Parked in layby near ruined Tan-y-Wires, up pastures then dived in to the forest. I've been in worse but it was not pleasant although it was not for a long distance.clivevilla02/11/2021
Didn't find an easy way to the top in the plantation. Glad it is marked by the metal leg-bases!TK06/12/2020
Third attempt, from Cerrigydrudion waiting for tyres to be done. First attempt was from tan y wires but lots of activity on the farm so thought better of it. Second attempt along forest track from main road but gave up after 50m as so dense (mid-summer). This time from tan-y-wires as others below, 1 gate & 1 fence. Weakness in trees is only 10-15m, unpleasant afterwards, walking backwards with waterproofs on and hood up helps. Cool little spot!jacobrichmond03/10/2020
As Aye Jimmy, parked at the ruined Tan-y-wires at 9699 5044 - Through gate & up alongside fence to gate on right - Through gate & up to top corner of field at 971506 - Over fence & then a tough battle through conifers to small clearing & the 4 metal supports for legs of fire tower; 2 of these are now hidden below branches. Good parking spot on road due S at Tan-y-wires. Gate then fence with newly laid water pipe-line beside it, to wood at top. NE along edge of wood to weakness, then a grim 100m struggle to small narrow clearing, GPS device almost essential to find it. Two short square metal posts remain from old fire tower.Aye Jimmy23/06/2018

Just about possible to get up the poorly defined firebreak from SH9686050870 fighting through deep heather/Sitka using GPS to navigate through trees to reach summit.PeteF22/01/2017
Continuation of walk from Mynydd Poeth. Followed twisting and turning forest track to summit area. Then took fire-break beginning at SH 96782 50772 up to fence at forest edge. Then followed fence east to a break in the trees. Then a hard sitka-thrash from SH 97056 50719 to small brambly clearing with meagre remains of fire tower. Then thrashed south to fence and followed it west to Pt.449m and onwards down to B4501 and car. With MP on a survey.Man of Kernow124/12/2014
