Very dry conditions certainly helped - but still a long haul from the reservoir track - via Beinn Bhreac - with hardly even faint ATV tracks to help most of the time | 49pp | 27/04/2021 |
Bogfest. Arduous would be a gross understatement. Good road up to reservoir at NS037747, then up L to rusty gate, from where ATV track leads up to edge of rough morass at about NS039748 then the easiest line over trackless rough, leads to Meallan Riabhach. Squelch on to Beinn Bhreac, bits of ATV track help. Not many hags, but much, much, bog to Coraddie and on to Stuchdan Capuill. Noting reports of bogs, tried to follow high ground via Cnoc Breamanach and Toman Dubh, but very complex terrain with much in-out and up-down. Big ATV track keeps to W side of this ridge, but fades in and out in the very tough vegetation. Nasty hidden leg breaker hole near bottom. Disappears near bottom in pasture land – would be hard to find going up from Ardentraive Farm. Glad to be off this horrendous hill. | Isbjorn | 15/10/2020 |
Left car at gourock, ferry over to dunnoon, bus to auchenbreck, tussocks and rough going for the first 2 km creag nam fitheach, dun mor west top visited all tops, dun mor, stuchdan capuill, coraddie repeat visited all high points again, beinn bhreac, sqian dubh flat summit,up over meallan riabhach and down to colintraive for the bus back to dunnoon. | robertphillips | 26/09/2020 |
Unusual hop and skip over Bute... after morning ferry cycled from Rothesay to Colintravie ferry. Up as others using the track, equally found easily drawn to going up to ridge too early, then over trig point and onto Coraddie. Visited both high points. Descended into Milton burn early on return to pick up alternative track on the opposite side of river. Finished with the return cycle and evening boat back to mainland. Wall to wall blue sky and sun, fine late Sept day | N.Morters | 21/09/2019 |
All possible tops visited. | PGCE | 23/05/2019 |
Directly up from the water works track to Meallan Riabhach then along the ridge to Coraddie. A descending traverse back to reach the Milton Burn and water works track. | Chris Peart | 29/03/2019 |
From Beinn Bhreac (pt507 to south) then north to Stuchdan Capuill. I thought the mossy knoll 75 metres NNW was higher but it was difficult to be sure in the misty visibility. | Alan Moore | 11/04/2018 |
Parked at Colintraive village hall, and walked up the hill road to the water treatment plant. An ATV track goes a fair way up the hill from there, and then it's fairly easy up the side of the hill on rough sheep pasture. I got over enthusiastic about going upwards and ended up on the ridge at Meallan Riabhach in horizontal snow, and pogging across the bogs on soft snow, yukky. Over Beinn Bhreac, down to the mucky col, and then over a bump to the various summit bumps of Corradie, and bagged the lot to make sure. Nasty direct descent to the stream coming from the summit (many steep drop offs to dodge), then an exasperating walk out across bogs and deep stream ways. Eventually found an ATV track leading across the main river (knee deep) to more bog, then a proper track. Dodged down to the hydro track. Went too far down to the turbine house but it's a dead end, so back tracked to Ardentraive farm and down to the ferry terminal. Good tea and cake in the Colintraive hotel. | Gill | 28/03/2018 |
Approached from Beinn Bhreach. Nice topography. | ger | 04/05/2017 |
From Colintraive first to trig then along ridge to summit.I thought that it was higher a further 100m North of the given summit reference. | NormanW | 25/03/2017 |
Helpful track to water works. Ford Milton Burn a couple 100 metres further on then easy ground by fence to trig. Very boggy between it and Coraddie where there's a choice of 3 tops (no cairns) which look the same height. Take care to avoid gully if taking direct route from summit back to water works. | AndrewFinnimore | 24/03/2017 |
A beautiful walk up the valley from Colintraive and along the top to summit, then back via trig. Great weather. | jenx | 03/06/2016 |
Up from Colintraive, track to farm then across to line of new hydro scheme up along the Milton Burn. Easy access therefore to 170m, then across the burn at intake point and easy grass slopes angling direct to the summit. There in just over the hour. Then along the summit ridge to trig on Beinn Bhreac before steeply down aiming to water works and service road at 70m. Alternate way up if avoiding the hydro scheme is preferred. | nordicstar | 03/06/2016 |
With Mike. Forestry plantation near to B836 recently felled, but not too rough. | raffemeister | 29/05/2015 |

From Colintraive with mora. | BLACKHILL | 01/04/2015 |
parked near ferry. up track towards Aredentraive. There is a 4wd track about 400m NW of burn. Stay on NW and follow up to plateau. Another fine viewpoint. Later C Na Coireach | Thearlaichdubh | 28/09/2013 |
From Colintraive Hotel via Beinn Bhreac trigpoint. Had a perfect pint in hotel afterwards, unusual for Scotland in my experience! | Aye Jimmy | 11/09/2009 |

From B Bhreac. Cool SW breeze. Weary trudge down over hags and swamp and up over 2 heaves and down before final ascent to top at 16.00. My 650th Scottish Marilyn. | arranc | 21/03/2003 |
fine hill & view+15/4/0713/4/08: 3 bumps: N-most is higher. tk from 013793 to 027787, path N to forest bdy then direct to B Bhreac, back via 498m top | RHW | 23/03/2002 |
Left car at ferry . Followed Allt na Croiche to trig. The 507 spot height could not be found on the ground. As spot height is outside 500m contour maybe erroneous. However Coraddie appears higher on map | garyhoney | 16/07/2000 |
