From SW, Parked 775 512 entrance to forestry road, followed road to 786 518 then fp through the trees on to open hill. Small group of ponies on the hill, up to bwf, last 50m from fence to top slow going through the felled area, if there is a path i didn't find it. Returned same way, then onto Ro Lwyd | Rob50 | 19/07/2023 |
As jacobrichmond. Parked tight against gorse bush in centre of turning circle at 775519 - Along narrow cycle track to the boggy stream at 786527 & up stream to fence line - Over bwf to better ground on SW side & up along animal trods to high point - Back over bwf & across brash, heather & bramble to summit & trig point. Fine view of the high tops of Snowdonia. | gerrybowes | 12/02/2023 |

18.55 Trig in open felled area. I only found the best way into this on the way out. If you're coming from the North. After coming off the A470 along the minor yellow road there's a junction at 798 539 where the road splits left and right. In the middle between these two is entrance two good condition drivable Forest Road. Take this up to 782 527, where forest Road splits and there is car parking space. The left-hand Eastern Forest Road has a metal barrier. Walk 100m up this track then follow left on the way-marked track through the forest, crossing another footpath, up to eventually open to hillside where you can go east to the trig pillar in open felled ground.
If coming from south on minor yellow road, enter Forest Road at 776 522 the same parking site. | vegibagger | 09/07/2021 |
With Rufus at dusk. Parked on road between Ty Mawr & Penmachno at turning circle SH 77530 51920. Followed mountain bike single track for a couple of km very wet in places and turned right along a small boggy stream at SH 78616 52677 onto open tree felled ground where a fence and wall lead almost to the obvious summit and trig point. No fallen tree at the top as the entire area has been felled. Lovely view of Moel Siabod and the Conwy Valley. | jacobrichmond | 06/03/2020 |
Me and Alf. From Llawr Ynys. Tree still there. | jrj | 14/12/2017 |
very wet day.
trig point buried beneath fallen tree which was on a small knoll, other highs point around but no visibility between | cjo | 10/06/2017 |
Bit of a fight at the top, trig partially beneath wind-blown tree. | TK | 23/04/2017 |

Followed jacobrichmond's route which worked fine although getting through the felled last bit is a bit tedious. The trig point is attractively situated on a rocky outcrop. | clivevilla | blank |
