https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eHi2uvBbdVLcmgKdhn_ra2OxF9h9FNH7/view?usp=sharing. I didn't know where the summit was and I didn't fancy walking along the whole plateau, but after looking back at my track on a OS map it turns out that I did indeed reach the hp. Yay! | John | 04/03/2024 |
from B 5106 Pen aberllyn se top> Pen aberllyn> Pen coedmawr >Bryn tanycastell east top > Bryn tanycastell hard going very wet some crawling needed pleasent on tracks 5 hrs | underhill | 11/09/2023 |
From good parking at Sarnau. Last 100m a bit of a bash but not too bad. | Alan Caine | 01/05/2023 |
From Llyn y Sarnau car park, headed SE along track for about 350m to crossroads - Turned left & up past cottage to high point of track - ENE up through mature sitka to small mossy mound & old stumps referenced by RichardM at SH 78428 58730 (N. of spot ht). Headed S. for about 50m, but seemed to lose more height than was gained. | gerrybowes | 21/12/2022 |
Pen Coedmawr & Bryn Tanycastell with Rufus from Llyn Sarnau. Same route as RHW from track to W and up vague fire break. High point appeared to be slightly N of OS spot height. Not too bad, fairly quick from track. | jacobrichmond | 04/12/2022 |
From Bwlch yr haiarn, horrible route through conifers - not for the faint hearted | JamesD1972 | 21/06/2017 |
Up track on W ide of summit past sad looking property then steeply up through dense conifers to summit area. Wet, rotting mossy understorey with no distinct high point that we could find. | RichardM | 10/06/2017 |
Indistinct in primeaval feeling forest with thick moss and rotten fallen branches, with ferns where the light got through. A wet thrash from nearby path. HP did not appear to be at OS Spot Height. | Denise | 10/06/2017 |
From Nant Bwlch yr Haearn. Yuk! | jrj | 31/01/2017 |
Nice walk in from Llyn Sarnau car park. Track past house (lovely situation, as I told the owner!). Where track ends, find a rough break angling back L between sitkas then find bilberry knoll in denseish sitka | RHW | 19/05/2013 |
