As GordonAdshead, parked by first zigzag & up zigzags through plantation to gate - Upper slopes thick with dead bracken so headed E. & then SW on excellent grass track which ended by hillfort entrance at 173247 - Faint path along rampart to high point. Lovely hill.gerrybowes10/11/2022
After seeing the orthopoedic surgeon in Oswestry. Parked at first zig zag (10 yards up from road). Great track and great hillGordonAdshead11/06/2022
Zigzagging through the plantation before emerging on a track through the bracken then a path steeply up to the right. What a wonderful site for a hillfort.clivevilla07/10/2020
Same route as Aye Jimmy. Having turned left at the gate there is a faint path through the bracken just after you get to a fence. This made the ascent much easier. The path fizzled out eventually but the bracken thinned out near the top so no problem. Another lovely hill and still quite light at 22.15. As I approached the gate on the way down I heard a rustle in the bracken and was almost bulldozed by four badgers which failed to see me. They must have smelled me though as they suddenly stopped about 1 metre from me and ran around in circles sniffing the ground and sniffing the air. They eyed me suspiciously but their eyesight must be very poor as they didn't seem to be able to work out what I was. After about a minute they bumbled off in the direction from which they came. Wonderful.Herbert Anchovy22/06/2018
From the NW following the zig-zags through plantation to emerge at gate and nice grassy lane. Left along this then direct to top, a grassy rim of old hill-fort.Aye Jimmy28/05/2018
4/5 solo. Wasn't planning on this one but I've been intrigued every time I pass it on the road to Llanrhaeadr. From that side it looks ominous and steely, but from Mynydd y Briw it looked like a nice little teddy bear of a hill, which it was really. Interesting fortifications on top and notably wonderful view of the tanat valley.tumpawumpa15/08/2017
From s, gate, steep bracken, sketchy paths, hp on 3m grassy rampart, position of natural hp unclear. First fieldfares of winter. Lovely hill and a perfect end to a celebratory autumn weekend in Wales.RHW06/11/2016
From the WNW via the tight zig-zag through the plantation.summitsup14/05/2016
Pulled in at track off lane n.w. Decent forestry zigzag track climbs to open slopes of cruel steepness. Easy enough though. A superb spot. Cant believe mine is the only log. Felt like a climb worthy of hump status at least.stig_nest19/04/2016
