Repeat visit with Meg and Xan. Wet and windy. After Ffridd Gorllwyn. | Herbert Anchovy | 20/02/2019 |
After the panorama walk to Ffridd Gorllwyn(qv) we walked up the lane past Bunkorama, admired the rock slabs at the top of the lane, then walked round to the N and made our way to the summit via grassy rakes through the steepest ground. The summit is lovely- rock and heather, a mini-Rhinog which is, geologically, exactly what it is. By now it was sunny and the coastal and estuary views were magnificent. We noted a gate at SH 6162 1659 to the access land and went through it to join the ROW network, returning past Gelli-fawr- a whitewashed house which features in the photos from the summit, backed by rugged slopes it looks impressively isolated thought it's only a mile from Barmouth.
