3rd hill of 9 today starting from Whitefarland point, climbing Ceann Reamhar and then after depositing rucksack on lower slopes, an out and back sorty to Sail Chalmadale before climbing up the granite boulders and to the ridge and again dropping my rucksack to go solo to explore the summit. A truly brilliant walk! Climbed on a glorious day from Pirnmill via 717m south top, then over Mullach Buidhe, Beinn Bhreac, and back via Coire Fhionn Lochan. Great views, and amazingly easy going over these smooth grassy hills. Even the bogs at the start were pretty dry.Gill23/06/2015
From Pirnmill. Better than the map suggests, first by the N.side of the Allt Gobhlach gorge cut in schist, then onto the granite- lots of slabs on the way up Casteal na h-Iolaire. Then, great views over the wilds to Goat Fell and Cir Mhor from all along the high ground to Mullach Buidhe. An exciting narrow ridge tempted but gale force gusts presuaded us to return to the col and make our way down Coire Roinn. We returned via a local hyrdo-electric scheme and noticed how easy crossing the burn is below its inlet- much easier than going up the burn as we had on the way out. With my brother, Pete,on a clear but very windy day.pwheeler02/06/2015

Parking roadside at Thundergay a clear and easy path ascends to Fhionn Lochan. From here we passed to the north of the Lochan and ascended the eastern arm of Coirein Lochain to the 653 spot height and cairn (Meall Donn); crossed to Beinn Bhreac and continued on the ridge to Mullach Buidhe, the Graham, then on to Beinn Bharrain. An easy path descends north to Allt Gobhlach, then heads west to meet the coast road. Finally a 1.6 mile road walk back to the car.jonglew11/05/2013
From Pirnmill via Allt Ghobhlach and then the scrambly NW ridge (I think it\'s sometimes called \"Barnacle Ridge\" though not marked as such on the map). Great scrambling. Then south to Beinn Bharrain south top; back north to main Mullach Buidhe summit with disintegrating trig point; on to Beinn Bhreac (north top) and the Marilyn Meall nan Damh. Back via Coire Fhionn Lochan to Thundergay. Great walk.milngavie_kenny24/07/2012

Good circular walk on fine sunny day.Walker Dan16/06/2010
Revisit. Fine summit, great views to snowy peaks far and near, Jura seeming just a stones throw away. After Goat Fell and Holy Island on a lovely sunny day. From W, mapped car park, SE thru trees and dead bracken, narrow ride to forest road, NE then follow wider ride W which becomes a wide boggy stream. Gentle ascent on boggy soggy snow then steep slope avoiding scree/boulder patches. Ridge once finally reached is a delight, short grass, a few outcrops. Bagged the Graham Top of Beinn Bharrain, across a nice rocky top, easy rocky descent, cross a big snow patch en route to the trigged Graham summit. Would be feasible to descend into corrie but nicer to go back same way. Trying to avoid boggy stream on return I got entangled in dense spruce. Not the nicest approach perhaps but it gave me time for Meall Mor (496m HuMP) then a nice meal in the Lochranza Hotel, rounding off an excellent 2 days trigging on Arran.RHW04/04/2010
Fr Pirnmill to NW. Track then path overlooking Allt Gobhlach until burn can be crossed higher up. Up ridge to Casteal na h'Iolaire in mist then round ridge to Mullach Buidhe and tatty trig.Aye Jimmy28/07/2009

During a New Year week on Arran. A cold but clear, overcast day with Martin66 & Shaky. Took the usual way up from Pirnmill but encountered thick ice on the innocent looking ridge leading up to the SW top. Chopped up this with ice axes & continued round, again icily, to the main summit. Didn't fancy dealing with the ice descending the same way or the corrie descent, so continued round to Beinn Bhreac & then down steep but easy slopes at dusk to rejoin the outward route. A very fine day out.NotReallyABagger02/01/2009
