Parked up in nearby layby and Lesley stayed in the car; I then checked out the land on either side of the road via gates. As stated the E side of the road seems higher. | Dazingdale | 23/03/2024 |
In the car, stopped for a photo at least! | jacobrichmond | 04/11/2023 |
Parked by gate just to south of summit. Walked along road to hedge bank. Could have climbed gate and walked up other side of hedge, but cattle put me off. | KeithByTheC | 29/09/2023 |

Hopped the nearby gate and walked the hedge line. | summitter | 29/05/2022 |
More or less a drive-over but we did get out of the car to check | pwheeler | 25/03/2022 |
An easy one on the way home form working in N Wales | Mark Sims | 11/03/2022 |
Large parking area by junction to S. at SJ 2975 3852 - N. along road for about 300m, over gate on right & up alongside hedge to high point. (S) | gerrybowes | 27/02/2022 |
Short walk (<400m) from small carpark to south at road junction. Gates enable access to grassy fields either side of road. All rather level. Nice view of the steaming Chirk paper mill. | Denise | 05/01/2022 |
Good car parking at road junction to S. Short walk along narrow lane to summit area. Road crosses the gently domed summit, fields of pasture both sides a little higher. Great view (apologies, but I'm an engineer) of the extensive Kronospan wood processing factory against back drop of snow covered fields. | RichardM | 05/01/2022 |
Parked by gate just to north back along road to hedge bank and made sure by visiting other side of hedge via gate to south. | PeterD | 13/08/2021 |
Over a gate and walked along the field side of the hedge for a way to cover wherever the HP actually is. | clivevilla | 13/02/2020 |
Scrambled up hedgebank. | Campbell Singer | 24/10/2019 |
Effectivly roadside, destroyed buried block in hedge! | cjo | 17/08/2019 |

Dry, parked near gateway then into field to summit. | Dugswell2 | 23/11/2018 |
Rail station to bus stop as daylight started to penetrate the mist. Currently a sheep field & not as indented with cattle prints as at the time of KW's photo. | Smudge | 23/11/2018 |
Walked dog up from Chirk Castle caravan site. No real view because of hedges either side | madaddo | 23/08/2018 |
Parked down by caravan site, walked back up lane. High point in field over hedge to E had no crop but horrendously muddy, went back for wellies. Easiest entry at gate 100m to S of crest of lane. | Aye Jimmy | 20/02/2018 |
Waddled up from the carboot sale where I was selling. Looked around the scrubby caravan area, saw pot bellied pigs and a peacock. Needed the loo. Hopped barbed fence to meander round roadside summit. Quite memorable for its oddity! Not satisfying. | tumpawumpa | 02/07/2017 |
Rather unmemorable stroll from Chirk Caravan Club site. Roadside summit not obvious. | sooztops | 23/04/2017 |
With TJB | trimarc2 | 24/03/2017 |
Managed to hit the car boot sale. Good place to have one, considering the narrow roads for access. | ngthack | 12/03/2017 |
Roadside bag. A couple of hundred yards to the north there is some (Gypsy?) caravans with a few hundred bin bags of rubbish piled up in their field, a lot of which had blown across the field and road. | David Evans | 23/01/2017 |
A heads up to anyone planning a visit. There is a car boot sale every Sunday just up the road from here. I live 6 miles away, forgot and was cursing. Top is about as pointless as they come. A grotty lane with a view of grotty factories. | stig_nest | 17/04/2016 |
As it's my final Wrexham tump I made a bit of effort to find natural hp. Appears to be c 5m into field a few metres ne of the gas pipeline marker. Stand on hedgebank and you're as high. Hard to be precise as in maize over my head. Wrexham done, surprising it has lasted so long. My last 4 today a bit prosaic especially this last! | RHW | 18/10/2015 |
