Solo. Clockwise on the Walk Highland recommended route. Toyed with the idea of extending the walk along the ridge to the other Cromdale Hills Fiona, Carn a Ghille Chearr, but didn't really have enough daylight and the ridge was reported by another walker on the day as very boggy. | DampandDusty | 19/11/2023 |
Carn a' Ghille Chearr and Creagan a' Chaise from Ballcorach | rhalstead | 12/09/2023 |
Parked on verge at Wester Rynaballoch. Took the good track at 101284, then the ATV track higher up to the cairn near point 635. Good path from there. Pair of curlews lower down, many golden plovers higher up. | Owen B | 17/06/2023 |
Parked at track entrance, 200m south of Lynemore. Sgor Gaoithe, Carn na Cloiche, Carn Tuairneir and Creagan a Chaise. Great route. The Jubilee Cairn is impressive. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 09/11/2022 |
From Ballcorach car park, 14 mile circuit of the Cromdale hills | BLACKHILL | 03/11/2022 |
Parked to NE (Mains of Inverourie), biked to Milton. Good track WSW, continues as atv (feint at first). Detour to Carn Tuaimeir. Boundary line NE to Carn a'Ghille Chearr. Down mapped track to pick up mapped FP to Mains of Inverourie - not always evident. On outskirts of farm, double barbed wire/chicken wire fence (NJ150267) - no gate so climbed over and on to and thru' farmyard. Farmer drove past but did not challenge me. | carole engel | 13/10/2022 |
From Ballcorach car park, up Carn a Ghillie Chearr first and then along ridge with intermittent path, following fence past cairn then easier up shoulder to Trig and cairn. Back down over Carlag. | PeterD | 10/06/2022 |

From Ballcorach parking (NJ155265), walked down road to Milton, and up the track opposite the house, crossed stream at track end (NJ129249), and headed directly up hill (tussocky heather and grass) along grouse butts to Carlag and onto summit of Creagan a' Chaise, continued N along Cromdale ridge, following a new fence, across the damp 531m col, up Rèidh Lèan and then Carn Eachie (skirting a group of ca 60 reindeer) and on to summit of Carn a Ghille Chearr, returned to Rèidh Lèan and followed path from ca NJ129276 SE, meeting track head at NJ133275 and following that down to Knock farmhouse (under reconstruction), then back down to R Avon and back to start (6h10m) | kdbennett | 23/03/2022 |
From start of hill track 300 yards S of Lynemore, diverting to Carn Tuairneir before rejoining the track to Creagan a'Chaise and the Jubilee Cairn. Cairngorms hazily visible in pastel shades on the hottest September day in Scotland for 115 years | Nick Down1 | 08/09/2021 |
From carpark over bridge at NJ155265 up track past Knock to ridge, saw an eagle. Turned right on ridge to Carn a Ghille Chear. Returned along ridge and continued on poor, boggy path to Cairn at NJ108260 where path improved to top. Descended west down narrow path to track lower down and followed quiet lane to carpark. 0 | Flatfield | 04/09/2021 |

Run from Cromdale | stooby | 27/10/2020 |
A quick and easy walk up the tracks to Creagan a' Chaise from Lynemore on the A939. Good parking. Track goes a long way up the hill, becoming peaty. Short descent then to the summit, watch out for the lichen, slippery after rain. A less easy walk back along the ridge via Carn Tuairneir to Sgor Gaoithe, dodging the quagmires made by ATVs most of the way along the ridge, except where there is short tundra. Great views but would be more pleasant in a drought. Down the N ridge to gain the shooting track to return. Single plank bridge across the first stream, second stream is a ford, wet feet likely after rain. | Gill | 02/10/2020 |

As farm track ends followed faint tracks through spongy heather heading for the Royal Cairn and the ridge running to the summit and Jubilee Cairn. A few snow showers as we drop towards the River Avon and Milton - then back along the road. | briandavies | 05/05/2019 |

Having studied Aqueously90s log on TP:UK, I decided to take a route from Bridge of Brown past Mains of Glenlochy and Tomlay to the ruin and then to try and find the track that took the boundary line and the Allt Mor or March Burn to the trigpoint. My heart sank when I got out of the car at the phone box and the GPSr said 3.6km, Charlie has not been well lately and I thought we may be undertaking too big a journey! All ok to ruin, then the going got a little rougher and ended up in quite high heather and it was very hot, Charlie was really struggling. After the gate we went down to the burn for a cool off and headed up to find the path at the boundary line. Nae path and at this point Charlie did his very odd howling and barking which we think is 'I'm not doing this anymore'. We still had about 1.2km to go but we'd come so far. So after a quick phone call to Mr TJR, more on TP:UK | thejackrustles | 08/07/2017 |
