| I parked by the western end of the dam and could not see any track so decided to try a direct ascent. | Nant-y-moch round. Yr Helfa Las, Banc Llechwedd-mawr, Drosgol, Cefn yr Esgair, Bryniau Rhyddion, Bryn Gwyn (from reservoir spur west of hill follow fence up steep grass then left through gate. Follow path veering right and after stream scramble right onto forest track heading south west. Follow track until it starts to descend bearing left and leaving forest. Here leave track climbing by edge of forest. Soon new plantation is seen. Follow gap between old and new trees. Near top a bit of fallen tree scrambling is needed. Return same way.
