Logged Descriptions  (logged by 13 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked by cattle grid NW of the summit. Up forest track and its continuation (not on 1:25000) until it started to descend. Turned off NE on trod in gap berween old and new trees.Moorponder27/06/2022
I parked by the western end of the dam and could not see any track so decided to try a direct ascent. It was OK for the first half but then I hit a barely penetrable forest which was difficult and unpleasant especially as it was a hot day and I was only wearing a t shirt on top.clivevilla23/07/2021
Followed forest track (padlocked gate) , directly up from reservoir to intersectvthis track from the other end could be quicker.Adrian06/12/2019

Nant-y-moch round. Yr Helfa Las, Banc Llechwedd-mawr, Drosgol, Cefn yr Esgair, Bryniau Rhyddion, Bryn Gwyn (from reservoir spur west of hill follow fence up steep grass then left through gate. Follow path veering right and after stream scramble right onto forest track heading south west. Follow track until it starts to descend bearing left and leaving forest. Here leave track climbing by edge of forest. Soon new plantation is seen. Follow gap between old and new trees. Near top a bit of fallen tree scrambling is needed. Return same way. Continue east on track to where it ends near reservoir then follow fire break down) 11 miles 3,000ft of ascent.ijpowell08/07/2016
