Solo. Parked at car park at Ballcorach to attack ridge from StrathAvon. Footpath up vehicle track is well signposted and leads nearly all the way to the Cromdale Hills ridge. Turn right and proceed over the minor top to the trig point. Same way back.DampandDusty26/11/2023
Carn a' Ghille Chearr and Creagan a' Chaise from Ballcorachrhalstead12/09/2023
With E. Fron Mains of Invourie car park past Knock farm and up zigzag tracks between Knock Burn and Allt Balnabeinne. Where the track ends faint, intermittent paths lead to Carn Eachie and along ridge to summit and trig point. Very quite. Saw no-one. No reindeer! Lovely clear sunny day.Beeliner09/09/2023
From Creagan a' Chaise. Good path back to the prominent cairn near point 635. Then fainter paths and ATV tracks, but easy going after a long dry spell. A very rare occasion when I got to the top and saw the trig and it was only when I checked the map that I realised I was already at the true summit. Retraced steps over Carn Eachie, then headed for the fence and rather poor path heading NW to the road at point 266 back to the car at Wester Rynaballoch.Owen B17/06/2023
Mapped parking in Strath Avon at NJ 1549 2655 and up through Knock. Good estate road leads most of the way up then a track along the ridge. Cut off a big corner on the return to regain outward track at NJ 1357 2754. Picked up Carn Eachie en-route - a sub-Docharty.jonglew19/03/2023
From car park at Ballcorach via Knock on track past herd of reindeer then over Carn Eachie to top. Back along ridge until Carn Eachie then descent directly down heathery slopes to Knock (OK today but probably not advised in the summer!)benalder28426/02/2023

From Ballcorach parking (NJ155265), walked down road to Milton, and up the track opposite the house, crossed stream at track end (NJ129249), and headed directly up hill (tussocky heather and grass) along grouse butts to Carlag and onto summit of Creagan a' Chaise, continued N along Cromdale ridge, following a new fence, across the damp 531m col, up Rèidh Lèan and then Carn Eachie (skirting a group of ca 60 reindeer) and on to summit of Carn a Ghille Chearr, returned to Rèidh Lèan and followed path from ca NJ129276 SE, meeting track head at NJ133275 and following that down to Knock farmhouse (under reconstruction), then back down to R Avon and back to start (6h10m)kdbennett23/03/2022
Parked at Mains of Inverourie car park. Thro Knok. Escorted by small herd of reindeer for half a mile above Knock. Over Carn Eachie to summit. Visited all contenders. Great views, snow cover on ground above 550m. With Lisa and Daniel.CJM11/02/2022
From carpark over bridge at NJ155265, up track past Knock to ridge, saw an Eagle. Turn right along ridge to summit. Return along ridge and continue on poor, boggy path to better path climbing to cairn at NJ108260 and on to summit of Creagan at Chaise. Described west down little path to track lower down and followed quiet lane back to carpark.Flatfield04/09/2021

A nice stroll from Balcorach along the usual track. Nice day, but a howling gale. Mobbed by friendly reindeer coming to congratulate me on completing the section 21 Marilyns (at last).Gill16/11/2020

With Rod from east up past old mill at Knock to end of track then cross to ridge and varying quality tracks. Very wet in places - them of the day. Back along broad ridge to Coronation Cairn then up to Jubilee Cairn. Down on decent path/track to Milton and back to car.SS30/07/2020
MMC walk during Storm Dennis. Fabulous high wind but dry walk with grouse, white hares and reindeeralexmaclennan15/02/2020
From Wester Ryanballoch. Fiklklowed (correct) path for a short way but then lost it, much heather thrashing after that untikl I worked my way over to the fence with the track that comes up from Easter Ryanballoch. Much easier then to ridge and summit. Down by fence more or less to the road but a couple of barbed wire fences to cross. I think track drifted off further to the north but not obvious, fence was clearer line.dickscroop03/01/2020

From car park just off B9136 (Over river Avon bridge) @ Ballcorach - Knock (and Earth House??) - Track past derelict farm heading up hill (near Knock Burn). As farm track ends followed faint tracks through short grasses and heather to the flattened summit of Carn Eachiea. The double top of Carn a' Ghille Chearr (with trig) appears beyond. We tumble down off Creag an Tarmachin following tracks through the heather trying to circle round. Finding Allt na Chriche in its grove and cross. Finding track down through plantation to Lyne (and a cluster of cottages. From here its a pleasurable stroll back along the river to the bridge (and car).briandavies09/05/2019
From Wester Rynaballoch. Solo.Dangerous Dave04/05/2019
County top reached from the Ballcoarach carpark on the B9136 a seven mile walk taking three hours on a clear evening, after the track ends this would be a much more difficult walk if attempted in low visibility as the path comes and goes.WAYNE ROWLETT27/07/2018
Dropped off to E at Allt na Criche, where signpost indicates access to hills. Up first field, over fence, across burn, and then ever upwards to the ridge and summit.Minto10/06/2018

SMHC Sunday Walk with Paola & Chris Jones Karin Marshall Linda Lawson Lorraine Clark Dianne Scorgie Wind forecast but not the severe wind we got at the summit. Dry clear day with fantastic great views over to Ben Rinnes. The days highlight for everyone was the herd of reindeer that trotted up to see us & pose for photos. They appear to be very comfortable with humans. One reindeer had what we assume was a GPS tracker padlocked to its neck probably so Santa can find himLizzieG15/10/2017
Reindeer on this walk - lovely. This was a Historic County Top and a Marylin and a Graham and mainly, a warm up before the Speyside Way!nickywood115/10/2017

Parked at Milton, with permission. Followed track up past shooting hut and onto ridge leading to distant large summit of Creagan a'Chaise. Followed line of the Cromdales to Carn a'Ghille Chearr.
