From lay by and up fp opposite. Impressive.Campbell Singer23/11/2023
Large lay-by just N. of RoW at SO 0895 7516 - Up RoW for about 200m, through gate on right & steeply up through open woodland to a second gate - Continued up over outer rampart, over the deep ditch & made way to high point on inner rampart - An impressive example of an Iron Age hill fort. A small bit of stonework is all that remains of the 13th century castle. (S)gerrybowes27/01/2022
Walk up in rain. Walked back down in rain. Lovely hill.Dusty22/10/2021

Fine (shale) earthworks with small stonework ruin, fine view. Raced up & down in 13 mins to catch weather forecast, needn't have bothered :-(. From SW, layby, wide track, then steep ascent thru wood (or presumably continue to ridge) RHW22/08/2009
