From Donside carpark. Had done the main route up and down multiple times over the years but hadn't been up for a while so decided to have a go at the circular route anti-clockwisse and take in Scare Hill at the same time. Good clear track up to the bealach between MH and SH. However from there the track heads NW up through the wood which has not as yet been cleared from the tree fall storm damage from last year. There are tracks that circumnavigate the tree fall but it does get quite tricky in places to pick your way through. I wouldn't advise using this route if you don't have good sense of direction or are a bit claustriphobic, I was using the walkhighland route tracker map so was able to see where I was in realtion to the main track and was able to find my way back to it further up. Once out of the wood the track is clear all the way to summit. Went back down the main route avoiding any tree fall.Jossker25/08/2022

Weather had been rubbish all day. Only intended to have a wee walk around one of the shorter walks from the Bennachie centre but on a whim decided to climb Millstone Hill. Nice wee walk and clear enough considering all the clag that was hanging around.Harley John20/05/2021
A super day including Bennachie from Donview. Great walking.GWR Chris09/05/2021
A very pleasant walk along the Millstone Trail from Don View car park, detouring through trees and heather to the small old cairn a few feet beyond two fence posts on Scare Hill. Superb views of Bennachie, especially Mither Tap, from Millstone Hill.Nick Down104/05/2021
Last hill of the day with Phil. Fantastic clear sunny day all day. Hoping to see the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn from the top. Waited and waited but a bank of thick cloud gathered on the horizon put paid to that plan. Descent in the dark.sarahk22/12/2020

Tessa and I wanted to attempt the three peaks at Bennachie but we missed Watch Craig. The weather was lovely. We did Millstone Hill thinking it was one of the three.GrantRSA25/01/2020
3.5 mile Millstone Trail circuit up and over Millstone Hill from the scenic Don View car park.Excellent firm very well maintained and signed path with many flat granite blocks making steps on western side. I walked anticlockwise in boots today but it would make a good running circuit especially clockwise. Opportunistic outing as finished early at Kemnay. Dry strong gales today with temperature rocketed to plus 13 degrees - too warm going up !(not as bad as the recent record shattering 48.9 degrees in Sydney and with the still burning devastating Australian bush fires).Left car park at 3.11pm back at 4.20pm in last photons of daylight. Had the place to myself, except for the masked carpenter in his wood shed by the car park.Chris Pearson07/01/2020
From the Visitor Centre, along the Millstone Hill Trail to Mother Tap (fascinating spot), on to the Quarry Trail to Craigshannoch & Oxen Craig (Bennachie), then dodging the Bennachie 50k runners to Watch Craig. Down to the Gordon Way to Heather Brig, then on to the Heather Brig trail to Millstone Hill, doubling back to the Millstone Hill Trail towards Scare Hill. Only the final couple of hundred metres to the summit are off-path, largely heather and felled forest debris. A forest road leads back to the visitor centre. 4.5 hrs in total. Great walk in lovely Autumn sunshine.summitter12/10/2019

From Scare Hill. Parking at Woodend, NJ699212, free, but sign says barrier is to be moved nearer to highway to prevent this. Forest tracks to col at NJ682196, then gravel and granite path to top, a bit circuitously.Isbjorn24/05/2019

Up the Millstone trail from Don View car park to the south on an anticlockwise circuit over Scare Hill then Millstone Hill where had a good blether with Catherine and her black lab/springer cross, Hustle and she enthusing about her first grandchild born 9 days back to her son and German wife in Berlin, plus chat on summit with American Mike from Pitsburg but 40 years in Scotland and his dog Axel, then back down the western path. Wonderful walk on good well made trails.vegibagger18/06/2018

Did Millstone Trail circuit from Donview car park. Up through recently felled area, then onto steep well constructed stone path to the summit, with views over Aberdeenshire and snowy Cairngorms. Down on paths through forestry.PiranhaFish25/03/2018

Solo. From Scare Hill. Good paths.Dangerous Dave16/09/2017
From Don View free car park, a nice figure 8 walk to take in the tops. The direct FC red route to the summit of Millstone Hill is closed due to logging, but the green route is fine, and very nice, if little meandering. Over the top, and down to pick up the Gordon Trail, a lovely route to Oxen Craig, with superb views. Oxen Craig obscured by mist and rain, but cleared on the way to Mither Tap. Amazing walled staircase to summit. Back via the logging road. When it runs out, there are paths down through the felled area to join the red FC route, and a couple of yards of brash to negotiate.Gill09/09/2017
From Essons car park and then just followed the way marked footpath. Continued on to Mither Tap and Oxen Craig and then back over Millstone Hill again. With Ben.Peterb14/07/2017

From the south at the free Don View CP, 673189. Good track / path all the way. Up and down n under the hour, fine end of day sunshine through upper woodlands that were lovely. Felling of old spruce going on lower down however the green path seems established.nordicstar22/01/2016
