Roadside parking at HU 4144 3517. Followed fenceline up for 200m, then a half right and direct to top over rough ground. Intersting WWII? bldgs en-route. Had a look inside the SE one (HU 4163 3574). | jonglew | 18/08/2018 |
Third of the day, and a nice hill. From the parking space near the Y junction for Beneath-the-Burn and Wester Quarff. The W side of the fence gives an easy climb on grass, then hop the fence and follow sheep tracks up the hill, above the old buildings, then along the E side of the ridge to the top on a vague path with great views. | Gill | 18/08/2018 |

After reaching the summit of Ward of Scousburgh. With friend. From road towards Wester Quarff at junction off to Beneath-a-burn. The map showed what looked like a footpath ascending the hill towards Scrae Field. There was a fence going NNW along the line of the path initially. We followed the fence but there was not much evidence of a path. The path shown on the map ends between two buildings (war time radio station) short of the summit. There was now even less evidence of a path. We continued to the summit of Scrae Field. There is a trig point (concrete square section pyramid) on the summit. It was foggy so we could not see much. We returned more or less the same way. | pwbellarby | 26/08/2013 |

Trig point at summit and a small red flag. Good Hill for Arctic hare. | Danny Mc Neill | 28/12/2010 |
Bus to Scalloway with Lesley then walked back to Lerwick first south up and over this marilyn, down to school at Quarff then back roads / settlements back to Lerwick (YH). Scalloway was the home of the Shetland Bus in WWII - the nickname for the clandestine boat link with German occupied Norway. A skillfully sculptured memorial sits in pride of place on the sea front. | Chris Pearson | 28/05/2009 |
