Climbed as part of a coastal loop with Corrina, Joe & Tom. Lots of misty rain but great views once cleared. | fnem | 02/08/2023 |
From plentiful parking at Treleddyd Fawr- via Penberry and the coast path. I extended the coast path section to Porth Coch- paths off are marked with signposts giving the grid ref. This took me via Maes-y-Mynydd and round the W tops- a rather hard to follow way almost entirely encroached by gorse at one point- the direct pemissive path 400 m further E would have been better. A little trod helped through the gorse over the tops with the name Carn Trellwyd on the Explorer map. Easy return down unmetalled lane to start. Really good walk. | pwheeler | 12/05/2022 |
Excellent parking a the end of the road at Treleddyd (SM 75370 27848). Bridleway is slightly overgrown and if it is wet as it was when I was here you emerge onto the access land soaking wet. | DC11main | 31/07/2021 |
10.4 mile circular from Whitesands car park, followed B4583 and then country lanes east to Treleidr farm then headed north towards Penberry, eventually finding the permissive path marked on the map up to the summit, from here followed coast path spotting several seals on the beaches below, then followed footpath onto Carn Perfedd, the summit can be a bit painful to get to because of the gorse but not too bad, then followed seldom-used paths back to the cliffs then back on the coast path to Carn Porth-Llong then around St David's Head towards Carn Llidi, good paths to old WW2 radar station then up to summit which requires a bit of a scramble to stand on top, followed path back to Whitesands. A few people around despite the very cloudy/sometimes showery conditions. Earlier that day bagged Garn Fawr. | DanTrig | 07/09/2020 |
From Treleddyd along the PRoW. | DanMaisieBex | 12/10/2019 |
jus from NT holiday cottages, I found the gorse particular bad on way up but found a slightly better route back down | cjo | 19/08/2019 |
twin tops, both visited, NE higher. Some gorse on approach but not too bad. lovely day, great views, back to excellent LLeithyr Farm Campsite | Denise | 29/07/2019 |
I thought the most northerly outcrop of Carn Treliwyd (SM 75255,28550) was slightly higher. | RichardM | 29/07/2019 |
From Carn Llidi. Took the path south of Llidi heading east before finding a path through the gorse to the summit. Solo. Sunny calm conditions. | bolton | 02/01/2019 |
Prickly ascent and descent as part of my morning run from Lleithyr Meadows caravan site | madaddo | 22/08/2018 |
On a circular walk from St David's Head | Poolton123 | 13/08/2018 |
from car park at Whitesands Bay via overgrown tracks | MandChills | 09/08/2018 |
Ran up from holiday cottage. | stever | 05/08/2018 |
From Whitesands Bay car park started on the Coastal Path up to Carn Porth Llong then across to Carnn Llidi and then across to Carn Perfedd. About 2 hours and lovely scenery even if the path disappeared in places. | clivevilla | 16/07/2018 |
3/4 On Pembrokeshire Coast Path a day of small detours to include Carn Porth-Llong, Carn Llidi, Carn Perfedd and Penberry. | nickywood1 | 21/03/2018 |
Prickly walk up from minor road to the SE to join the upper coastal path with detour to Penberry. Then continuation on to Carn Perfedd via more prickly paths and off-piste to take in 3 likely summits although middle one seem highest after you look back from the road. Then used minor roads back to car. | Dugswell2 | 24/07/2016 |
From Carn Porth-Ilong along coast path initially then on narrow but good track through bracken to saddle. Did both of the 142m spot heights at SM 75249 28550 and SM 74930 28238, both gave 145m on my GPS. Guess I have to go with the latter as that seems the accepted top, but they are close. | jonglew | 23/07/2016 |
After Porth-llong slightly messy directish route. Two main tops of which westernmost just higher I think. Nice descent back to whitesands | RHW | 14/05/2016 |
from coast path walk 3 tops | underhill | 16/08/2015 |
Lovely weather doing the round on this headland just after retirement w Jenx. Walked the entire ridge length | nordicstar | 05/04/2015 |
Parked by cottages in Treleddyd-fawr beyond end of lane at SM 75370 27852. Took RoW behind cottages, then through farmyard, and then overgrown RoW north into access land. Ascended Carn Treliwyd first - north top (location of 142m spot height) got highest GPS reading for the whole of the walk. Also visited central and south tops close-by. Then descended to bwlch and climbed onto Carn Perfedd, visiting all four tops - second one west got highest GPS reading (the one with the 124m spot height). To descend, followed overgrown RoW east round south side of the hill to rejoin outward route. By judicious choice of paths and sheep tracks, I managed to do the route in shorts with little pain! | Man of Kernow1 | 31/07/2014 |
