Thought ground by remains of base of fire tower is highest point. | Adrian | 18/10/2020 |
As jonglew. The path described by jon reveals an amazing amount of coal. Met two interesting blokes at parking area, one a mushroom farmer from Dorset and the other, a pest controller from Bristol. Searching for unusual mushrooms. | Campbell Singer | 05/09/2020 |
Parked near forest barrier at the road end. Route as others describe, access off forest track to the HP becoming over grown. Up by wall to HP. | PeterD | 10/06/2018 |
From SW parking probably at same place as RHW, where forest barrier prevents further driving (SN84500232). Good track, if a bit wet, then wide forest vehicle access road before (SN85860327) following a faint track steeply up through conifer woodland to summit by old stone wall. Walked along the ridge on a rough and boggy quad track to where the the fire tower used to be; possible moss covered remains is all that's left of it. | jonglew | 01/02/2017 |
From sw, road becomes unmade then parking at SN844023 whence track, overhung and doubling as a stream on my drizzly ascent, leads to summit. Hp flattish but seems well defined, in open spruce se of track some way before hp of track, 20m ne of GR6 ie further than expected. | RHW | 16/07/2016 |
Walked up from Resolven. No fire tower now north of top. A few high points in forest but the spot height on my map affords the only view. | Dusty | 01/05/2015 |
