Nice 8 mile Run loop from Barry Sidings .. up through forest then back via Ponty Circular .. up the track from lane and through a gate to high bit .. lots of horses but friendly enough .. interesting spot | milejunkie | 18/09/2023 |
Parked by pub, horse country. Visited several high point around edge of quarry. | cjo | 29/06/2022 |
Walked up from pontypridd I didn't relize how busy the road was and I would not recommend it. The area by the stone wall does appear to be the high point but visited at least half a dozen other possibilities . | hodder | 20/04/2022 |
Quick romp up from the road - small 'tower' on the NE side of the quarry edge looked highest. | DanMaisieBex | 16/05/2021 |
Entered quarry from west end. Scruffy shacks but far end delightful. High point next to garden wall at east end. | Campbell Singer | 30/08/2019 |
Short walk from road to quarry. Went to all 3 possible HPs on quarry edge which required ascent and descent to get between them. Difficult to tell which of the two that backed onto houses was the higher. | PeterD | 05/08/2018 |
Final Rhondda hill. Interesting quarry rim to walk round. 3 high points 2 giving 262m and middle one 261m on GPS. Agree with Dusty; rear boundary fence of house (Chanel View) is the likely HP. | jonglew | 18/01/2017 |
Walked round old quarry and think high point is close to house. | Dusty | 20/04/2016 |
From NE, 3 hp contenders visited around edge of former quarry in rain and poor visibility | RHW | 24/10/2015 |
Parked on side road by pub. Short walk across park. | Ramblingpaul | 07/10/2015 |
