8 mile very wet walk loop with Pauline from carpark at ST422948 .. there is a lovely path starting at ST424932 that climbs the hill helta skelta style to the topmilejunkie31/10/2023
Parked at road junction to SE. Tracks to ST 42530 92976, then path to summit. Nice view to SW.PGCE21/04/2023
Followed PROW from north which contours hill. When at a wooden garden fence, 5min, almost double back on faint path through braken which countours back towards summit.cjo05/04/2023
I started off on the ROW to the north. At ST 42515 93156 a likely path headed up but eventually ended up contouring around the hill. So I struck up through the horribly entangling woodland to the top. The top is in a clearing so you have a bit of a view and there are three faint but doable paths. I took the path which seemed to be the best direction and it took me fairly easily to meet the ROW at ST 42530 92976. So my top tip here is take the ROW to ST 42530 92976 and follow the faint path. Or don't do it in the summer.DC11main02/07/2022
The OS map is out of date in that this hill is covered in deciduous woodland. The summit photo is also deceiving as it is only a small clearing on the summit. The footpath starting to the NE takes you to some garden fences, from there take a track through the bracken to the summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave26/11/2021
Parked to the east, up a couple of fields and then some trees. Nice views.clivevilla15/08/2019
First of three Tumps from David Broome Event Centre by bike. Car parking looks tricky; bike easy to hide in the wood up the public FP from NE. Better to turn back N about 100m up this track. Traverses level NW for a while before climbing steeply SW to the summit.Came back SE then E to rejoin the public FP higher up. This path is overgrown with bracken 2m high and hidden brambles. Not recommended from Juy onwards!Minto29/07/2019
2/3 Parked near timber stacks to north. Followed footpath from NE which led to summit, although via bracken and brambles. Way down was much easier as I took a different path, for best route up follow main footpath for 100m or so, then there should be a slightly less visible one to the right which should lead to top (after making a sharp left turn). Or just do it in winter and avoid bracken.penbet22/07/2019
Always good to be able to record a Tump bag when you hadn't intended too. Out geocaching and it took me to the top of this one. Nice views. Mild November day.Father Ted14/11/2018
From Highfield Hill, north along Bowden’s Lane and across the A48, then right in Parc Seymour and along minor roads to Huntshill cattery, turning right here, then up the footpath which runs along the east side of the hill, then up one of the paths off to the left, through the trees, finally breaking out into the open at the rocky summit.Mariana Trench29/06/2018

From NE along FP and then small path that went all the way to the top. Good views. UA completion.PeterD08/12/2017
Bracken bash on unmarked path, but top very pleasant.ngthack23/07/2017
Had a terrible time here followed footpath into fields and could not find footpath up should have followed footpath next to house at 425 932 the way marker is missing descended this way it is just past the boarding kennals. Hacked my way through ferns the same height as me and large number of biting insects, by the time I reached the top I was too hot and bothered to enjoy it. I would image this would be best done in winter where the path would be more defined. Fine views from the top this must have been a hill fort .hodder17/07/2017
From ROW to north east then unmarked path goes off to right to top. Lovely little hill with great views over Bristol ChannelMark Sims22/05/2017
As for Cas gwent.arranc11/04/2017
Accessed hill from ROW to NE, divering up hill on established path in open access land. Super little hill with great views.Cas-gwent06/04/2017
From south, steeply up to a very pleasing clearing above an area of deciduous forest. Looked hillfort-like. Good view of the day's earlier ascent of Wentwood and hazy views of Severn. Birdsong suggested it really was the first day of spring!Denise 01/03/2017
From SW on thin paths through forest from the mapped foot path. Open summit with good views.RichardM01/03/2017
From ne, as others. Summit looks like old stony hillfort rampart? A few Newport tumps after G2016 Triggers gathering. Slippery from overnight rainRHW16/10/2016
Again followed in jonglews footsteps. More or less!Dusty24/07/2016
RoW initially from minor road, then a faint track leads off SW dirctly for summit. Mainly wooded, but small clearing at top gives good views W and N. My 12th and final Newport tump today.jonglew23/06/2016
Starting point as Rambling Paul. Walk up through woods to summit just in open with fine pastoral views.Campbell Singer18/05/2016
Several paths to the summit. Top in undergrowthAdrian18/10/2015
