Along PROW. New fence and hedge laying in progress. Ope gateway after 300m up to summit. Brush clearance of land. | cjo | 09/04/2023 |
Small layby just W of ROW. Along ROW, then over gate. Steeply up and over fence to summit. | PGCE | 28/12/2022 |
From same parking spot as Clive. Along BW to gate, up past some very noisy sheep to cut route to fence at top and into pasture. | PeterD | 21/07/2022 |
Indistinct HP in long grass on ridgelet. Pleasant views. From track. Noting others' comments, vegetation not an issue in winter. | Denise | 07/11/2021 |
From track along W side of hill. Over gate and up through bracken to Oak then over BWF to vague high point in pasture. | RichardM | 07/11/2021 |
Parked at 35214 94949, back east a few yards to a diagonal path. The hill had been mowed so there was no problem with brambles or anything else. | clivevilla | 30/04/2021 |
Newport - bus to near Tredunnock - Wentwood - Cefn Henlla - Pen Ty-coch - bus to Caerleon - Lodge Hill - Brynglas - Newport. | Mark Jackson | 04/01/2020 |
From Roughton Hill, east along lanes to Llwyncelyn, then south on the bridleway, and then the fun began. Fought my way through Bracken, brambles and nettles to eventually arrive at the high point, not that you could see anything from there, as the vegetation is too high. IT'S A VERY BAD IDEA TO DO THIS HILL IN SUMMER!!! | Mariana Trench | 22/06/2019 |
Good parking to west of fp. Along fp until rusty gate which actually opened. Straight up through dead bracken. Summit just over bwf. Looks better in mid winter with dead vegetation. Secateurs useful. | Campbell Singer | 26/01/2019 |
Not a rumble in the jungle but a scramble in the brambles. Advice is that this is a winter hill. | Barbara Singer | 26/01/2019 |
As jonglew. After gate the two bastard bs. Brambles & bracken. | ngthack | 09/11/2017 |
From N 353949 on path in gully, over BWF and horrific brambly patch to fence at top of field. | arranc | 29/11/2016 |
A lot of activity at Pant Farm so took RoW to W then over rickety field gate and steeply up fern and bramble slope to summit. | jonglew | 29/10/2016 |
Last tump of longish day. Wet through and car steamed up from dripping coats and boots. | Dusty | 24/07/2016 |
