Logged Descriptions  (logged by 15 users)ByDate of Ascent
From Pike Knowe. Tough start but fought my way into the forest south of Hogswood Moor and hit the forest track. A great relief to be on a solid surface, followed the track to Rabbit Crag and then relatively easy going up firebreaks. On to Blackman's Law.Wycombe Wanderer17/08/2023
Parking at Black Middens. Forest roads all the way to the last 200m across easy grass/heather along the forest edge.JohnR04/02/2022

Exactly as moorsman. Excellent forest roads except for last 200 metres, and that is easy along edge of newish plantation. No recent forestry work evident.Crib Goch27/01/2019
Parked to the (distant) east half a mile NW of the Bastil. Parking available at the very start of the forest track (alt 220m). Was initially tempted to see how far I could drive but a Forestry lorry loaded with timber approached so I thought better of it! Good track past Highfield Farm as far as 720912. Here another good track leads right up to the edge of the wood where a large amount of felling is taking place. This means that lorries are constantly passing and the lie of the land looks different. However, the road stops 220m before the summit, so there is only a little section not on a solid surface. Visited the The Dodd on my return as I didn't fancy coming this may again! 9.5kms return, 2:45 hours, ascent 489mmoorsman03/08/2017
From Falstone 724.876. Walked up lengthy but easy forest roads that end 250m from summit. Rough track through brash continues to cairn near new wooden gate at angle of new fence. Area S of summit has been felled, now large stacks at side of road. 'Forestry Operations' access ban over last kilometre ended 09/09/16 according to warning sign.Aye Jimmy03/10/2016
