With Jo, from parking area east of Bygate Hall Cottages. Track past cottages to buildings south of summit, then followed fence line to top. Returned via Byegate Hall. Weather; sunny cool breeze with good visibility. | amblerbob | 25/04/2021 |
Verges solid and wide enough to park on road to the E (NT864087). Straight up the hill > Dumbhope Law. Then via Byegate Hall > Long Hill. Continued ESE > Inner Hill. Returned to the road where it crosses the river and back to parking. | JohnR | 16/04/2021 |

With Long Hill - Parked with permission at Bygate Hall Cottages NT 8651 0832. If continuing to Dumbhope Law, barn mentioned below is at NT 8578 0833 but no path - long grass in field at present. | carole engel | 20/07/2019 |
Ascended from Bygate Hall Cottages, climbing Long Hill first. From Long Hill it is possible to see an unmarked series of tracks leading to Dumbhope without descending all the way back down first.

Firstly aim back from Long Hill to the wire fence. Here you can pick up a wide track heading over Fallow Knowes. However, once you cross the little beck in the hollow and start rising there is almost immediately a path to the right cutting off the summit. This hugs the shoulder then heads straight for the obvious barn. A path leads across the fields alongside the barn to the summit of Dumbhope. Head back to the barn and follow the stoned road to the cottages. Saw the farmer twice and he just acknowledged me with a wave both times. | moorsman | 05/08/2017 |

From Bygate Hall cottages together with Long Hill. Track to couple of metal barns then along wall, stile/gate onto the summit field. Three similar looking grassy rises at the summit. | Aye Jimmy | 14/08/2016 |
Ranges seemingly closed for Xmas, so took chance to bag Dumbhope Law, Long Hill and Inner Hill from Bygate Hall cottages. Dropped down steeply NE from Inner Hill and back up road. 5.7miles, 3.25 hrs. | Crib Goch | 19/12/2015 |
