|Green to Haughtongreen bothy route. Also, wish I had read other logs. Attempted to climb gates but the threat of ripped clothes for a TuMP was enough to desist. Rather proud to have an unticked TuMP - attitude thing.||Eddie||04/12/2019|
|Cycled in from NY 723 711 (easy parking then easy cycling).||mae||15/08/2019|
|Parked at the start of the forest road (which leads all the way to the summit) at NY7887 7518, 700m west of Middleburn. Gates were locked. This solid, often surfaced, road leads right through the trees to the summit compound. Basic rule is ... always choose the better road at every junction.
Summit is inside a compound with 5 different locks (so presumably 5 different utilities have access). Tried to walk round the compound but dense vegetation beat me and would have served no real purpose. Admire people who get this far and then don't tick the summit. Shame I cant be one of them!||moorsman||04/08/2017|
|Forest gates locked, parked to W near Hindleysteel but even this involved a road 'forestry vehicles and residents only'. Did circuit including trig at Hopealone. Summit area similar patio design to Monkside except brick paving replaced by concrete slabs. Cairn 4m from dummy missile launcher. Back to car and resident from Hindleysteel gave me an earful, most unhappy that I'd used road and parked there.||Aye Jimmy||25/09/2016|
|Cairn top next to dummy vehicle.||Dave Geere||21/02/2016|
|Wish I'd read the previous logs before doing this. Long walk through the forest to be confronted with 8ft fence topped by barbed wire, and radiation warnings. Summit clearly inside secure area, so not ticked.||Crib Goch||25/10/2014|
|With Jo, circular walk from Steel Rigg: HWP to Peel Crags, Highshield Crags, Hotbank Crags, PW and tracks to Bell Crags (top is within security fence), then tracks to Hopealone tripillar and onto road for return along HWP over Winshield Crags. Weather; generally sunny, warm, though light rain on WC, good visibility.||amblerbob||26/07/2014|
