Good access from NW - track to E of Chatton. Parked on grassy triangle NU 0817 2805. Easy walking round to track into wood (approx. NU 087 273). New shooting hut on track at NU 0750 2702carole engel24/08/2019
As Colin below. Summit south of cabin, but very flat area of woodland.fasgadh08/08/2019
Access a bit of a challenge on this hill, with unwelcoming signs on every likely approach; the Chillingham walks were still closed. So I visited Ros Castle for a third time and followed vague but improving paths from there. High point just off a green break, in open treesColin Crawford23/03/2019
After bagging Ros Castle I clambered over the wall and bashed through the heather to the N of the wall until I picked up a permissive path which follows the wall to the BS shown on the OS map before heading down down to Chillingham Wood. A track then led N at the side of a deer fence to a gap in the wall, where the vehicle track led N towards the summit, which was difficult to pin-point amongst the trees. Also checked up the other possible HP mentioned to N of spooky cabin, but it didn't seem as high.Wheelsy04/01/2019
Parked outside church by Home Farm. Surfaced track N, then vehicle track E to NU0728,2653. Track shown on OS map E from this point doesn't exist, so headed very steeply NE through Achnacarry Plantation to wall at top. Gap in wall accesses wide N-S vehicle track. Short way up this and high point is in the woods on the right.Crib Goch18/11/2017
Chatton to Wooperton. Approached via good track from ENE (Amersidelaw Moor) and descended S to join the permissive path in Chillingham Wood. [Map of walks]Smudge10/12/2016
Chillingham, from top car park. Followed fence, gates, track directly to wood and small gate onto lower N-S track. North along this to wall running up wood. Steep ascent on far side of wall to meet upper N-S track and headed N. Sign up 'No access: forestry operations' but nothing going on so continued. Summit about 55m E from this track along green lane in trees. Visited N top beyond cabin which seemed lower.Aye Jimmy21/07/2016
From sw, Chillingham, wild cattle park closed til late March but forest walks open. A map of these would be useful as not well marked. Opening in high wall accesses S-N forest road which passes the two summits. 25k spot height in open spruce pltn; N summit is bank w side of road beyond what could be a shooting cabinRHW13/03/2016
