2nd island of 3 today. From pier fairly straight up, wind picked up and sadly summit in cloud until we passed later in the day.N.Morters26/05/2019
Sea Harris trip organized by Gill, Pabbay, Taransay and Scarp. Straight up from small quay. Easy going.CJM26/05/2019
A great trip in very poor weather with Seumas on the Enchanted Isle. Landed slipway by the houses, heading along the side of Cleit an Dun, finding a good path on the W side of the ridge, emerging onto the ridge heading NNW by a turf wall. Across a dip, then NNE up to the lochan below the summit, and onto the final climb up the S ridge. Wet, windy, no view but still a great walk, mainly very easy going.Gill26/05/2019
Sea Harris trip arranged by Gill. Pabbay, Taransay & Scarp. Some rain, some mist & some views - excellent day out with other baggers.ger26/05/2019
Landed at Sgeir a'Bhuallt on the SE beach. 2 hours on the island as the wind changed direction and made things more challenging. 2 hours on the island during Gill's well organised excursion.bolton26/05/2019

RIB from Huisinis with Bob, Sarah, Rick, Jen, Carole. Dropped off on rocks SE side of island, near the old shielings. Yomped up in vain attempt at doing all 4 hills on the island. Soon realized 2 was the limit in 90 mins.jonglew06/05/2016

Arrived on Taransay for few days' camping. Decided to climb to highest point whilst weather still fine and glad i did, as weather deteriorated thereafter! First view ever of St Kilda, shrouded in mist - also the Flannan Isles and fabulous views all round.Skerryvore05/07/2008
Round of Beinn Ra, Beinn na h-Uidhe, and Hearradhal from Paibeil.Eddie12/07/2007
Over to Taransay on RIB. 10 minute bouncy crossing with George, Alan, Stewart and Charles Knowles. Past village ruins and site of BBC Castaway programme (now all cleared away), over lush short sheep grass to visible horizon, then over a fence and dry moor, On second horizon bore right and to top at 11.30. Mist.arranc02/06/2006
The time on the island was negotiable but we settled for 7.5 hours. The boat trip started from Horgabost beach and lasted precisely 4 mins costing £15. Because we had so much time we decided to do the circular walk advertised by Mr Mackay.garyhoney02/08/2004
Date is first visit. RHW02/07/2002
Cycled from Tarbet with Lesley for an excitingly fast speedboat (4 mins) across to Taransay on a HOT and calm day- Med like. Wandered around the recently abandoned Castaway 2000 buildings from the 2000 TV reality year long experiment where 36 strangers lived together to build a self sufficient community, including the then unknown Ben Fogle, making video diaries. Today another film crew was on the island making the true film 'Rocketman' about a German professor who built rockets to fire the mail across the sea from Taransay. Today must have been Rocketman's day off as nothing was happening. Climbed to the high point and went west to bag one of the UK's Treble Zero grid reference (about which I had written an article for TAC). Back at 4pm to cycle south for ferry to N Uist with time for a beautiful evening climb of Greabhal.Chris Pearson24/05/2001
Estimated date - Encountered some of the folk from the Castaway series and invited them on board for a dram.sclater01/06/2000
The local farmer took us across in his boat for £5 per person to Paibeil. We stayed the night at the former MBA bothy at Uidhe, near the Temple Stone.Sadly it is no longer an open bothy. Then climbed Ben Ra via Loch an Dun.Minto18/07/1997
I was dropped off at the western beach with Andy, Jill, Bill & Dave by Angus from the Kilda Cruises vessel Hirta and we made our way eastwards visiting all significant tops. Lovely views of the surrounding islands from this top where we setup with others from the boat who'd been dropped of near Ben Fogle & the Castaways2000 old home.signyredblank
