Parked at the start of the bridleway to the north in Roundthwaite village. Orchids in flowery verge. Followed the bridleway, then at open access sign took the track leading all the way to the summit. Fr0m Huck's Bridge. 4 hills to whinfell, then drop down into Borrowdale and ascend between Bush Howe and Jeffrey Mount. Along to Jeffrey Mount and then all the way along the ridge to Piper's Hill and back to Huck's Bridge over the stepping stones. Just under 5 hours.Longwojo29/05/2021
From parking area at east end of Borrowdale valley. Whinfell beacon and three tops on south side of valley, then direct decent down to valley bottom, over bridge and up nice rising track to ridge between Whinash and Winterscleugh. Then back east over Winterscleugh, minor tops, and finished on Jeffries Mount. Direct down to road bridge and back to car. Winter flurries. With B and R.jenx27/12/2020

Pipers Hill, Whinash, Jeffrey's Mount from parking area at E end of Borrowdale. Walked along glen then ascent to Pipers Hill and return along the ridge. Snow at all levels, camped overnight in very cold conditions on ridge just before Piper's Hill.RobertP03/02/2019

Easy parking at the start of the bridleway to the north in Roundthwaite village (alt 188m). Follow the bridleway as far as the start of the open access then a good track leads all the way to the summit. 2.66km return, 45mins,202m ascent.moorsman28/10/2017

Walked up normal route from Roundthwaite just to bag this one we keep seeing from the M6, good views for a very small hill, nice break after a long drive back from bagging Schiehallion in Scotland earlier that day.DanTrig16/08/2016
Parking is possible at the junction of the bridleway and the minor road. The bridleway can be followed to a gate, where there is a grassy track to the summit. There is a pleasant walk along the ridge to return down the bridleway.JohnW21/03/2016
Climbed from Roundthwaite Abbey to Jeffrey's Mount along ridge to Whinash. Dropped down into Borrowdale and climbed back up the other side to Ashstead Fell, Mabbin Crag and Whinfell Common before dropping back into Borrowdale and following the dale back to the A685 and return to start. From S of hill, track heading SW off the A685. Small parking space at NY 6092.0183. Track for short way to gate then directly up steep hillside past small quarry (unseen from below). Angle eased for last 300m. Passed six fell ponies to slight grassy dome about 90m short of cairn. Marginally higher than cairn maybe?Aye Jimmy25/11/2014

Parked on layby on minor road at NY 60607 01495. Excellent circular walk including Jeffrey's Mount, Casterfell Hill, Belt Howe, Roundthwaite Common, Winterscleugh, Winterscleugh N Top & Whinash. From the summit of Whinash we headed SE to pick up an excellent path slanting down the steep hillside to High Borrowdale Farm (derelict). A pleasant walk back along the valley bridleway finished off a good day on these little frequented hills.David Gradwell22/07/2012
