More awkward tree bashing, along the wall to top of col after leaving main path and then a thin path leads up to the summit which is just some rocks in the woodland - bit of a trod. Then back down to tackle another!nickywood102/09/2018
Trail running from Crosslands to Grizedale over Brock crag, Tarn intake, Beck Side Intake. Approached from SW - horrendously overgrown path.Fionalevey28/05/2018
Good parking at SD 3547 9406. RoW and good forestry tracks most of the way; last few metres more tricky. Nice outcrop at HP. With Rick Salter.jonglew19/03/2018

Hawkshead Moor > Tarn Intake > Beck Side Intake from GR: SD 34210 96357ronaldo33301/10/2017
Along wet fire break from SD 343 936, across old stone wall then climb up right through heather to edge of forest. Follow line of fence posts clockwise around forest to obvious break in trees to summit rocks.RichardM30/12/2016
With Jo, from Tarn Intake: track through Potato Peg Plantation and then path to SD 34532 93952, from where we fought our way to top of Beck Side Intake (an erroneous route). Found easy way off: followed old fence line N, NW then SW, going forward across aforesaid path arriving on track in Great Intake at SD 34341 93721 which we then followed back to the VC. Weather; overcast, mild, good visibility.amblerbob13/11/2016
Did this hill with Brock Crag from P & P forestry car park at SD 33768 93259. Used Dave Geere's instructions (thank you) to reach summit. Note: the gate Dave tells you not to go through is no longer there. It is actually lay on the ground some distance from the path. The position of this gate used to be at SD 34387 93384. At this point leave the path (turn left) then follow Dave's instructions. There is also no longer a fence to bother about to access the high point.David Gradwell28/04/2016
Followed RHW's descent route (the start looks horrible but it improves) - the lower 1/2 follows a conifer/deciduous boundary - leads to within 20m of summit in a fairly direct line.jimbloomer15/03/2016
After Tarn Intake, took main track S then forced a way E to summit - bad!! I'm pretty sure the rocky summit 30m to N at SD 34662 93727 is c.1m higher - and has a nice view north to Coniston Fells. Half decent track passes close to summit: I followed it SW along old fenceline to rejoin forest road at SD 34309 93449. This would be easy way to summit.RHW06/09/2015
From Brock Crag using huge forest tracks and then Dave Geere's instructions for finding the top which worked perfectly - thanks! Two rocky points just inside fence, took readings on second where some pruning is evident. Fence rather frail at crossing point, stronger nearer angle of fence some 45m before but involves more tree work. Passes another possible HP though.Aye Jimmy20/04/2015
2nd visit to improve access. From SD34298 93406 follow path E to gate,do not go through, but follow fence E initially then broken wall N to 2nd fence which gives a handrail NE to SD34667 93707. Cross fence W through trees to rock top.Dave Geere22/03/2015
From SW. Dense forest. GPS useless. Avoid until felled!peebs09/02/2015
Attempted from East but young firs impenetrable. Perhaps from the west side but I doubt it.peebs02/02/2015
