Logged Descriptions  (logged by 35 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked near barn to NW, up track which became very muddy for most of way, through two gates and up to top.PeterD23/12/2023
Off road space for up to 3 cars on the roadside a few metres north of Beckside. There is an inviting gate a few metres up the road but this leads into deep gorse, brambles and requires climbing a few walls. Instead go through a fieldgate 300m up the road. This accesses a path up to the trees where there is a broken wall to cross then a trouble free wall-free route to the summit. Out of sight most of the way.moorsman21/09/2022
2nd attempt having been denied access by the farmer who came past on NW side as I was getting out of car. This time parked by 2 gates on east side on Crook to Staveley road 4665 9659. 4 gates give easy access all the way to summit.conanharrod10/02/2021
Used track from road at SD 4566 9672, despite notice on gate saying private land, no public right of wayAlanD20/12/2020
Verge parking near the barn, 2 gates and 1 fence to the top.robertphillips08/10/2020
4/4 Parked near Dales way footpath, just south of Borwick Hill, walked along to the cattle grid and accessed Borwick Hill from North West of the Cattle Grid for easy access, then through Borwick Fold to rejoin the DalesWay over to School Knott Tarn and up to Heathwaite Hill, backtracked all along Dales Way to Climb Crook Knott - use gate off the Dales Way enclosed trackway to gain access without having to cross any walls. Then over broken walls to reach footpath down to the Dales Way road which leads over to Staveley. Up this road, almost to the wide low barn, use gate on RHS to get easy access on Kerris Hill via three gates. Then back on Dales Way lanes to car. 3.5 hours enjoyable after a rainy morning.nickywood126/10/2019

2 hour circuit run (on a dry morning!)using very muddy, waterlogged Dales Way,fpaths and lanes linking 3 Tumps from /to Bowness. From summit had just over 1 hour to run back to Bowness before a very nice sunday roast family lunch cooked by brother. Just made it with time for a shower first, followed by a snooze watching footie on telly afterwards!Chris Pearson10/01/2016
