If doing this hill along with Wan Fell, read my comments on Wan Fell first. Don't try and walk directly between them due to deep, unavoidable, bogs, difficult vegetation and fences. Far better doing Wan Fell first. If doing this on its own you can access the land via a stile to the east at map spotheight 167 or risk navigating the somewhat tricky barbed wire around the gate. Track after this gate keeps you on the open access ground so is perfectly legal.moorsman03/08/2022
Seriously Angry farmer ! Initially parked at Quarry entrance but all access to Open Access Land blocked there plus idiot farmer screaming at you. Parked by style to east later in eveningconanharrod30/04/2021
From the quarry entrance,robertphillips07/10/2020
2/2 Parked by the quarry, negotiated the terrible barbed wire (you can get through by squeezing under it on fence to left of the bridle gate) bad to see an open access closed like this. Wandered over to Wan Fell, using Western side of the access area then more successful dry return using the Eastern Side to Brown Rigg. A lovely piece of countryside nice moorland bird song.nickywood113/06/2020
walk up quarry access road, snow on ground. reservoir 2 m higher than large flat summitcjo10/03/2019
With Jenx and Bryher using the old quarry road. Access land is heavily barb wired off quite badly, will report. Too easily accessible and thereafter out to Wan Fell over said access land.nordicstar16/02/2019
Used the quarry gates and road for access as barbed wire everywhere else. Not at all welcoming. But easy once on access land.jenx16/02/2019
Parked by the quarry road and used access track to gain the open groundColin Crawford08/10/2017
From NE, parking at field entrance on minor road. Pasture to NY 5145 3733, then faint track through fern to reservoir compound. HP possibly in the compound at the W corner. Warning signs stated audio monitoring was being carried out for my protection - couldn't quite work that one out!jonglew30/07/2017
From road to N by quarry. Access land throughout. Boggy in the col between Wan Fell and Brown Rigg.mae23/10/2015
From NE using entrance to Brown Rigg quarry. Track round RH side of quarry, then gate out and overgrown path to reservoir compound. Looked similar height over wall outside compound to S to me.Aye Jimmy19/10/2015

Lift to Access point & return to bus stop @ Plumpton. Follow walls around top of quarry to compound - rough bracken higher up.Smudge11/10/2014
As RHW, more from road to NNW, about 300m from top. Two low fences to cross, easy access. Ground out back of reserviour seems higher, need to return when bracjen lower.nordicstar03/09/2014
Covered resr, gate not locked but sounds supposedly recorded. From NW, cross pasture then a path to summit RHW09/10/2011
