A short walk tagged on after Bowness Knott three. So we parked on the lane at the very sharp bend to the North West, and made a round the block walk of it using lanes and the footpath, took half an hour. Easy access via a gate up the field to the top, no problem. Saw two Bull Finches on the way round. Lovely view into the Fells and up Ennerdale.nickywood102/09/2022
Parked near road junction to the west. Walked up the minor road and over metal gate into empty field. Quick stroll up to the summit which is out of site of the farm until the very top. Solo.Dangerous Dave24/04/2021
21. 20 bit of breeze fortunately to keep the midges off that were dreadful an hour ago.vegibagger26/06/2020
Parked at 10070 16574, walked up past the farm which, from the signs displayed, is owned by a grumpy farmer, and turned left down the side road. The hill is behind another farm so I went a bit past and climbed it from an angle.clivevilla20/10/2019
Easy roadside parking at the road junction due west Walked along the minor road cutting upwards at a fieldgate. 20 minutes return.moorsman17/10/2019
Coda after big walk. Through gap in hawthorn hedge just west of Howside Farm. Very quick bag. Unusually distinct view of Pillar Rock. Off to Buttermere YHA.Wycombe Wanderer21/09/2019
No RoW across surrounding land. Not an open access area. Nearest point of approach without trespassing is NY091167.Isbjorn08/09/2018
Roadside pull-in (NY 1000 1663). Walked up the road and past Howside Farm to cut back up the hill out of sight of the farm house. Returned to the minor road to cross it and take the RoW up to Banna Fell. Picking off 'orphaned' hills previously bypassed.jonglew17/03/2018

7km walk with L in lifting gloom after a morning of rain revealing the beauty of Ennerdale up to a low cloud base. All may look tranquil from up here but battle has raged /continues (?)over the possibility of Ennerdale's granite providing an underground storage for high level radioactive waste. Copeland & Allerdale councils agreed to consider it but Cumbria County Council then vetoed it, but then the Govt legislated to remove this veto power and now all options are being considered. Another controversy which is drawing to a conclusion soon are plans to introduce around 4 lynx into Ennerdale on a trial basis with GPS trackers as part of the re-wilding programme of Ennerdale as a predator to control wild deer numbers.(Update plans now cancelled) On a lighter note down below on the lake shore is where, if you believe the web, where Bill Clinton proposed to Hillary - so unlikely it must be true?Chris Pearson22/08/2016
From Whins after Banna Fell. Along lane past Howside Farm - metal gate into field 200 yards west. Fantastic views over Ennerdale WaterCrib Goch04/06/2016
Those views along Ennerdale make this one very worthwhileColin Crawford06/09/2015
Parked 100m beyond farm building Eirinn Talla with amusing legend on gate. Walked up lane 'unfit for motor vehicles' past Howside to metal gate, then up field. Superb views of lower Ennerdale Water. Flat slabby rock at summit has an EABM type of bolt in it, only the second one of this type I've seen (the other being in Barbondale).Aye Jimmy30/07/2015

Parked to E, ascended from NNW. Road passable by car but is v narrow as I discovered when I met a car and had to climb up on bank to avoid losing my legs! Great little summit.RHW17/05/2015
With Jo, walk from Bowness Knott car park: Floutern Pass onto Banna Fell West Top, Banna Fell East Top, Floutern Cop and Tarn, returning via Howside Hill and lake path. Weather; generally cloudy with sunny intervals, warm good visibility.amblerbob25/04/2014
