P as Moorsman. Bridleway left onto track heading a little W of S. Over a stile and through a gate into the top field. No bovine encounters.chrisbien11/10/2021
Excellent parking a few metres along the riverside brideway running west from the point where the road leaves the river. Easy to follow footpath across the fields leading to a BWF into the summit field. On starting the return journey a herd of frisky cows had lined themselves menacingly up againt BWF so I headed straight down to join the riverside bridleway. 1.8km return. 30 minutes.moorsman26/07/2020
3/6 From Warcop, Vicarage Bank, Trickle Banks, Sourlands Hill, Great Musgrave Hill, Thorny Hill and Huber Hill. Used the Pennine Journey and other footpaths to link these six together, made a nice 5 hour round. Bit slick with mud in a few places.nickywood118/01/2020

The 'Warcop 7' (Tumps) day walk with Darren. From Great Musgrave we largely following the route of Wainwright's Pennine Journey when in 1938 as a 31 year old, on the eve of war braking out, he spent 11 days walking 211 miles alone from Settle to Hadrian's Wall and back -keeping notes which he turned into a book - but only published in 1986 when he was 79 yrs old. The Wainwright Society have also produced a guidebook to his route, which here is diverted off the private direct track to / from the holiday cottages at Ploughlands to follow row and lane the long way round. Here Wainwright was heading south and about to be soaked through by driving rain heading for Kirkby Stephen where he shivered in a cold room in a cold unwelcoming inn, smoking his way through the night.Chris Pearson29/07/2016
Via RoW from E. Parking 50m S of start of track.jimbloomer26/09/2015
Nearly a bagger friendly hill! F/p from E signed 'To Sourlands Hill' and four stiles lead almost to top. No stile for last fence, tree round to left helps. Yellow carpet of dandelions on gently rounded top.Aye Jimmy16/05/2015
