| Parked on grass verge of concrete road to farm SD224750. Stile directs away from PFP and onto mast road. At mast, an easily missed, minuscule gap, L, in hedge, with steps up to stile. | Trig in field of pasture, almost dark but no animals as we can see. Last hill of the day with Graham, Tony J and Denise. | Verge parking just south-east of where the footpath from the north-east starts. Remember that the footpath does not follow the fenceline. If you forget this there are messy hedges to deal with. | Wide verge parking W side of A595 (SD 2240 7509). Had hoped to drive to the mast, but worker bees had the access road blocked off. Took the RoW running due N, veering off 300m before the top on a bee-line. Remains of a large bonfire (beacon?) on the barrow (SD 2259 7601), which looks to be at least as high as the trig/HP. | jonglew | 10/12/2018 |
| 2nd tump of 11 today on 32.2km loop from Askham station to Ulverston, climbing Park Knotts then descent to Lots road, taking a footpath curving around to Greenscoe farm but I took a gated track SE then at the jct NE, that leads to some clay pits and a huge trench with a stream trickling through it that i crossed over, with a dormant digger nearby. Climbed through western fringe of Cragg wood then profiled around the gorse to reach a fenceline, then direct up to the summit with trig. Descent to intersection of fences and footpath, briefly detouring to get a nice pic of a windswept tree then around the Transmission tower (as I couldnt locate the footpath) to cross the A595 then on footpath circling Housethwaite hill,heading for the Hagg Hills.... | Dazingdale | 31/03/2018 |

| There is a decent car park just North of the A590/A595 junction - and from there a public right of way, North, past the radio masts. Cows, young calves and a bull (long way away, not sure) in the field around the summit. So I kept to the right of way until past the summit and then turned and climbed East. Cows, with calves using the trig point as a scratching post meant a chilly 15 minutes wait until it was my turn to 'summit' | M3WDD | 24/09/2016 |
