This is on the historic Edenhall Estate who have many fine luxury rental properties catering for wedding parties in particular including Highbarn House alongside this woodland summit. Their website has a photo of newly weds in an open top Mustang driving up to Higbarn House -presumably to start their bagging future together? I plodded up the drive in my wellies and under a golf umbrella to follow the estate advice to its guests 'I go into the woods to lose my mind and find my soul' ! I was lucky as no newly weds or anyone at the house to bother before I went to lose my mind and find my soul on the summit. The Luck of Edenhall is also the name given to an unbroken 600 yr old middle eastern coloured glass vase owned by the estate - and kept by the British Museum (presumably in cotton wool). It was of course taken by the butler from fairies dancing around a well so the story goes. | Chris Pearson | 24/10/2023 |
From the minor road visited both areas. | robertphillips | 07/10/2023 |
Parked in Edenhall to bag a line of benchmarks en route to Highbarn Hill in woodland. Through one gate, up pasture & gate into woodland. | Dugswell2 | 06/04/2023 |
Parked at 56345 31020, through a gate, up a pasture and in to the woods. | clivevilla | 17/10/2022 |
An opportunist nag on the way home. The house was untenanted. The woodland seemed higher so I tramped around there for a bit. Glad to learn later that my intuition was correct | Colin Crawford | 09/10/2022 |
The couple from the house have now moved out and the Edenhall Estate is converting the property into holiday lets, specifically, but not exclusively for wedding guests. I contacted the Edenhall Estate office who saw no problems in me accessing the summit as the property was currently empty. Gate virtually alongside the house gives easy access into the wood, no climbing. | moorsman | 06/02/2022 |

Parked on road to NE and up the track to close to the house, left track about 20 metres to find the grid reference. A 15 minute stroll. | nickywood1 | 06/12/2020 |

Woodland seemed higher than the field, | Adrian | 04/07/2019 |
snow and wind, walked up track to field by house | cjo | 10/03/2019 |
From NE. The wood looked higher to me so I found the highest point in there too, just in case. | Wycombe Wanderer | 22/09/2018 |
Walked up the track and spoke with the owner who was happy for me to bag his hill. | jonglew | 23/05/2018 |
Owner spoke to me as I left the track onto main road. The land is private but permission will be readily given at the hall. He doesn't want any pictures of any of the buildings at the top on the internet but OK for personal use. | Alan Caine | 07/11/2015 |
Lane from NE with right-angled bends, runs along side of field with two horses. No-one around. Very slight rise in field in front of house (barn with windows). | Aye Jimmy | 25/10/2015 |
As RHW but drove up. Called at the cott, nice people, wondered why I wanted to walk on their 'hill', a field outside the house. Lovely views from here. | nordicstar | 03/09/2014 |
