Logged Descriptions  (logged by 49 users)ByDate of Ascent
As moorsman, parked on verge by seat to SSW, about 200m S. of start of RoW - Along RoW for about 150m, turned left & picked up obvious vehicle track which heads up ramp to gate - Over gate, across pasture to a 2nd gate & up to summit. Fine viewpoint including Coniston Fells & Ingleborough.gerrybowes13/01/2024
Moorsman's route, easy and pleasantColin Crawford28/07/2023
Followed moorsman's direction and found this a pleasant hill to ascend.JohnW16/07/2023
To my amazement this was an exceptionally easy summit to reach. Ample room for a single car on a grassy verge 200m south of the start of the footpath south of Edenbrook Farm. Cross the stile and head directly across the field. After 200m an obvious track leads diagonally upwards up the hill. This track leads straight to the summit. Absolutely no obstacles.moorsman21/04/2023
From north via Galley Hall. No climbing walls or fences.Hugh Taylor17/03/2023

Parked near railway bridges to NE along FP until SE of hill then directly up. Very wet.PeterD30/12/2022
Quick bag in darkness from layby by bench to SW. East along RoW, then N through open gates in sheep pasture to domed grassy summit. Nice view of twinkling lights across Bay. Map suggests a section of the road is tidal? but not apparent today, although it was dark.Denise 28/12/2021
Started on squelchy RoW to SW then deviated N before crossing the first fence. Through field gates to summit field and high point.RichardM28/12/2021
Murky day. Exposed limestone at the top was a pleasant surprise.fasgadh23/12/2021
The famous 1945 Brief Encounter film (voted the 12th best British film ever in 2019), was filmed at the foot of this hill at Carnforth railway station / junction. The museum cafe there is well worth a visit for its fascinating railway memorabilia and you can sit and have a cup of tea at the very table in the film where the two married protagonists considered, and declined, adultery! Today, baggers passing through usually also only have a brief encounter with this hill - although presumably with nobler thoughts on their minds? A longer acquaintance with the area could be experienced if you got your tide times wrong and got your car stuck on the quirky section of tidal road that circles the hill. Views over mysterious Morecambe Bay and its quick sands are ample rewards for any visit.Chris Pearson14/12/2021
