Afternoon ascent after supply teaching day to Morecambe. Docile cows and popular dog walkers path up this drumlin hill rising above the fringes of Morecambe and its huge Bay - infamous for its treacherous mud flats and rapid tides. The Eden Project North is planned for the waterfront -reversing the decline of the once popular seaside town whose funfairs have long gone. Bradford-by- the-Sea was once it's nickname being a popular holiday and retirement venue by rail from dirty Leeds. Locals are rightly proud of Eric Morecambe who grew up here (taking his stage name from the town). They are less proud of Mr Blobby after the Blobbygate theme park (to the N of the hill ) financial disaster which lost the council a fortune.Chris Pearson21/09/2021
