With Sue from Pendragon Castle, follow Pennine Journey S and other footpaths to cross under railway and follow PJ to High Dolphinsty. Head N to summit Little Fell. Occasional views cloudy wet and windy. Follow path N to minor road and summit Birkett Common. Road and paths to start.Frank28/01/2022
Last hill of a holiday with Pete, on a day West of Eden. This hill has different views, more or less N along the valley, and outliers such as Dufton Pike stood out best from this top, in the flat midsummer sunlight. Very quick bag from parking immediately above the Settle-Carlisle line: Birkett Common forces a short tunnel.pwheeler17/06/2021
Very easily bagged from road above railway tunnel. The only thing we could of managed after the Grayrigg-Borrowdale circular over 9 hills and 1071m ascent earlier that day. Sunny/breezy with nice views all round.DanTrig18/05/2021

Out and back from the lane over the railway tunnel as a break from a bike ride.Eddie29/09/2020
2/3 Birthday walk. Used Pennine Bridleway to get up to Little Fell, then lovely walk along the ridge with views to Mallerstang, over the minor road and up to Birkett Common, then along this lane to get back to main road and up Ash Fell from the Cattle Grid. Go up LHS of the wall and cross it about 100 metres from the trig point, easy throughs in the wall there. Even I did it. Then back over open access land to car.nickywood103/09/2020

Easy parking on open road to SW nr tunnel entrance. Short walk straight to top on feint grass path. Nice views. Look out of Lammerside Castle ruin to north in valley below. Back down same way then lunch in car as bit to cold on fell.Hillsidenick15/11/2017

Plentiful parking on the minor road to the south at the point where it crosses the (underground) railway. A simple walk to the top from here. No real effort required.moorsman08/03/2014
After High Seat ridge from Sails, driving home. Stopped at road col and strolled through wild ponies to summit top to get views back down over Pendragon castle to the hills walked/Outhgill, and NW to Eden valley/KS in setting sun. Glorious.nordicstar19/06/2013
