Drove up Green Lane from Long Preston to end of tarmac. Plenty of places to park. Walked up the Pennine Bridleway to the summit. Visited the trig point on the way back. Solo.Dangerous Dave10/08/2023
Solo, from Greenfoot P & D car park in Settle (£2.30). Warrendale Knotts trig pt & summit, High Hill, then Hunter Bark trig pt & summit. Got up (and down) Warrendale Knotts via a ladder stile at SD 8319 6409, then followed the obvious path between crags to the top.ADT25/09/2022
Visited the summit and the trig point, which is a few metres lower. No direct way between the two. Good views. Ran home!HardenC17/09/2022

Drove up the minor road from Long Preston to end of tarmac road at SD 808 600. Simply walk along the Pennine Bridleway with short diversion to the summit in thick mist and drizzle. Visited the trig on the the return. 3km there and back in 40 minutes. (S)silveracorn_alan12/12/2020
1st of 6 tumps today, this being incorporated into a circular from Scaleber Force waterfall. Once down at the waterfall i continued then scrambled up the side and back onto the road. Took forest track through Wild Share to gate with pasture then over Scaleber beck and up beside stone wall. Climbed over high wall then short ascent upto top, continuing to trig then down to the fp to Lodge farm and bridleway back to the road and then start. Continuation to Hellifield for a 5 tump circular.Dazingdale12/09/2020
small gritstone ridge with path, with larks singing and stone chats clicking. Trig also visited. Back to Settle and its 'no visitors welcome' sign.Denise 26/06/2020
Ancient lanes from High Hill. Back to Settle in rain via field paths. Great if murky views.RichardM26/06/2020

10am, 1 degree and rising at Mitchell Lane, some snow and ice after a cold snap but high level cloud signals mild, wet weather returning. Judging by the number of footprints in the snow, a surprisingly frequented summit. Good view. 45 mins.Wycombe Wanderer03/02/2019
With Jo, from Long Preston. Followed Green Gate Lane and then tracks to summit. Detoured to trig on return. Weather; sunny, cold wind, good visibility.amblerbob02/11/2018

2nd visit almost a year to the day since the 1st. In passing including the trig as well this time on a 12 mile walk circuit from Giggleswick to Hellifield and back with L and Martha the spaniel in spitting drizzle.Chris Pearson26/10/2017
Only 4-wheel drive vehicles should attempt to drive the lane up to it. Standard vehicles can approach from Settle and drive as far as the Mitchell Lane end (alt 284). Here turn right and drive for another 100m down the track until it widens out to form a good parking area. FRom here it is an easy walk to the summit. 2.19km return. 35 minutesmoorsman18/02/2017
Be very cautious if trying to drive up close to the top in an ordinary car, the bottom of ours (Citroen C3) started scraping at 828623. Don't tell the_mrs_adam :P Convenient space to park here without blocking the farm gates though so I walked it from there. I noticed 3 places further up that appeared to give less clearance.the_adam21/01/2017
Walked steeply up 500 exhausting feet from Settle with L up Mitchell Lane which exhausted me as full of cold and aching. The summit was the limit of my 'mountaineering' today. Even the extra out and back to add the lower trig was too much today. Long chat with a lady artist sketching on way back down on this gorgeous blue sunny autumnal day. Back in Settle I drove back to cottage and straight to sleep whilst L walked the 5 miles back, having walked there(maintaining her 30,000 steps a day average)Chris Pearson25/10/2016
From Long Preston, followed Green Gate Lane + track to highest point, path through heather to summitBramley02/05/2016

From N. Visited both potential summit locations (area of trig point and approx 300m to NE).RobertP05/09/2015
Drove right up the narrow road then kept going on the rough track and parked by two gates just below the summit. Doesn't need a 4x4 just a bit of care. There's an evil hump near the top of the tarmacked section. 5 minutes return from there.ijpowell04/09/2014
