Approached via path from old railway line after completing Catley Hill | matty1971b | 21/08/2022 |
Approached via path from old railway line. Hilltop presumably amid the cliff edge wheat, beneath the power lines. | mrs_ts7 | 14/05/2022 |
Raisby Hill from GR: NZ 35881 35877 | ronaldo333 | 30/10/2021 |
As get. Quarry edge now 30m E of old grid ref of top. | chrisbien | 13/10/2021 |
Straightforward on tracks from NE. Don't block the gate as looks like it's in frequent use. | Wycombe Wanderer | 29/08/2021 |
From NZ 3587 3588, wide gated field entrance. RoW then frm track along field boundary. Agree with Ger's 1st GR as the new high point on the fenceline. | jonglew | 01/06/2021 |
P near wind farm entrance. Summit edge has moved further E! Lower excavated ground to W, then a spoil ridged edge. Walked the fenced edge & visited some, obviously temporary spoil high points on the more westerly edge. E of E edge, visited 3 high points:- man made high point S @ NZ35391 35365, High point with tree stump @ NZ35375 35412 & man made high point N @ NZ 35365 35450. | ger | 17/04/2021 |
No parking at the access footpath to the north east .... now blocked by boulders. Parking is available 250m south at the entrance to the wind farm. Follow footpaths to the centre field pylon then another 100m to summit at edge of quarry. | moorsman | 05/09/2020 |
Quarry now extended east and summit gone. Now field boundary approx. NZ 35333 35366 | carole engel | 31/12/2018 |
From NE along ROW to south side.
High point is now field edge. | PeterD | 18/06/2018 |
Agree that the summit has moved to the east due to quarrying of the old top. | Campbell Singer | 22/05/2018 |
Parked at end of gated lane E of Low. Walked along ROW track to site of (now removed) transmitter mast and followed edge of field to quarry boundary fence. HP is now on the line
of this new fence. | John Lee | 19/10/2017 |
Grid reference indicates a point about 50m from cliff edge in open air. Must of quarried the old top away. | andrew brown | 14/02/2017 |
Ran here from Catley Hill. Skirted round 3 sides of a fenced field warning of quarry workings. Came across a lane which took me nicely uphill to the summit. | madaddo | 29/01/2017 |
from west quarry road entrance tarmacced and then left on dirt track round northern perimeter till no longer driveable then on foot. well mud-caked boots afterwards | vegibagger | 15/04/2016 |
Parked at Low Raisby farm track entrance. Up lane to farm, then track & fp round quarry perimeter fence to where low fence gets twice as high & no bw. Cross fence easily into narrow belt of young trees to narrow strip of field. Cross this to bank of scraped up topsoil. Teeter precariously along top of bank for 200 m to highest point. GR of 353353 appears to be well within workings of quarry, hence inaccessible & possibly quarried away. Should have noted new high point, but didn't have pen & paper with me. Couldn't keep 8 figures in my head until back at van either. | ngthack | 25/02/2016 |
Parked about a km to W at start of Raisby Way, an old mineral line. Followed track past nature reserve. At end of wood turned R and followed field edges to track and barbed wire fence around cabbage field, and 'Danger keep out, quarry' signs. Summit at top of cabbage field, at fence corner overlooking (working) quarry. (Simpler approach may be available via large muddy track from N). | Aye Jimmy | 11/11/2014 |
All change on this. Top now at corner edge of field overlooking quarry. Old top now several metres lower. New GR and height needed. Confess I found it possible to drive most of way to top. Short trip through field to top. | nordicstar | 06/11/2014 |
Not possible to reach the summit without trespassing on quarry. Pleasant view from the path to the East. | philos | 31/08/2014 |
