On a trail run from the mast near J22 of the M62.Wheelsy29/10/2023
Parked at Oxygrains then followed stream, cut across moor to leat, over bridge and up hill to summit. Dropped down by farm to A672 then along fp next to Spa Clough. With Ed in snow & strong winds but plenty of sunshine. Very pleasantJohn Eley12/03/2023
Up roughground to the leat. Then a good path to the pillar. The best path was identified on return. This starts opposite the center of the small layby by oxygrains bridge.cjo29/08/2022

As others up PROW from old bridge to south, followed path via Green Withins reservoir, then took 3rd bridge across leet with well worn track up to trig. On way back, once across leat headed south to meet path back to road.PeterD23/03/2022
As per Gerry Bowes on a very cold and misty day .Mark Sims25/01/2022

As others, parked in layby just E. of the Oxgrains Old Bridge at SE 0042 1588 - Directly opposite the top end of the layby, a fairly narrow permissive path heads up bank to a pedestrian gate & continues N. to the whitewashed trig point. A pleasant walk which crosses the leat at SE 0050 1643. (S)gerrybowes30/10/2020
Parked at SD 99131 15131 and reached via Green Withins track then path to summit. SRWG29/07/2020

With Backstone Edge from S.jimbloomer21/02/2018
Parked on the A672 at SE00412 15891. There is a faint path immediately opposite the lay by which is not obvious from the road. This gives easy access to the top over a well made bridge. Rock hard under foot due to frost. Easy going.Campbell Singer16/02/2018
Previous entry was doubtful, so today went back and made sure. From main road to east, by pub. About 6 miles, returning via Rishworth Lodge. 2hr 30min. Leaves one Calderdale tump to do.IanHHill18/11/2017

From car park at 031165, RoW goes through farm cottages where I met very friendly owner. There is a path that goes up to the trig (not shown on map), it needed a bit of a moor crossing to find it though.the_adam15/02/2017
From Blackstone Edge via Flint Hill.Wheelsy22/12/2016
3rd hill of 5 today on a long and tiring route from Marsden to Slaithwaite via the Buckstones over the A640 to Waystone Edge (covered 2 foot deep in snow) the Pennine Way, Blackstone Edge and then I took the Old Packhorse Road to the Footbridge over one of the man-made watercourses followed the concessionary path onto Rishworth moor before I veered off to climb upto the summit on Dog Hill. I descended SE to drop onto another concessionary path called 'Blackwood Edge road' and took this to the fp that goes over Booth Moor. Next destination: Turner Wood Hill...Dazingdale20/11/2016
No parking to south as both car parks now closed and inaccessible. This includes where the pemissive path starts. Drove to park shown at the north east ... also closed but managed to squeeze on at the start of the concessionary path. Farmer raised no objection. Alt 990ft. Follow the good path as far as Cat Moss then look for a tall, distinct cairn alongside the Cat Stones. From this cairn a good, clear path leads to the summit. 2.87 miles return, 80 minutes, 524 ft of ascent.moorsman22/10/2016
Run with Richard. And many times before.richardsun01/10/2016
13.1 mile walk from White House pub, walked along road and turned onto path along side old water channel, then took another footpath left which eventually climbed onto Dog Hill, walked south along trails to next old water channel and followed it Green Withens reservoir, then along path to join Pennine way towards Windy Hill mast, then along to White Hill trig and across rough and boggy moors to Way Stone Edge hopefully covering the summit, then back along M62 bridge and followed way across Blackstone Edge (previously walked in 2005) and back to pub. Hot, clear and sunny, got badly sunburnt.DanTrig18/07/2016
Rishworh Turnpike Inn for breakfast then parked just along the roas in the car park next to Booth Wood - Booth Wood - Rishworth Moor (Dog Hill 435m& Trig)- Green Withens Reservoir - followed water cut off to Pennine Way Bridge over M62 - White Hill & Trig - Way Stone Edge then back past the farm in middle of the M62 to get back to the Booth Wood Reservoir and car.briandavies05/06/2016
A lovely walk from Oxygrains Old Bridge with Alfie. We followed the permissive path to the dam at Green Withens Reservoir then up to Flint Hill (427m), Rishworth Moor (434m) and Dog Hill (435m). Direct descent south pack to the van.Dangerous Dave13/05/2016
Parked on verge near start of PF.SE 018161 then followed quarry edge to track straight up hill to gate onto moor. Follow further tracks past white topped post and to trig. Mostly dry underfoot, 30 min slog.mart079725/03/2016

With Jo, walk from Blackstone Edge Reservoir: permissive paths to Rishworth Moor, then via Green Withens Reservoir and M62 fb to White Hill, out and back to Way Stone Edge (Moss Moor)(various tops), returning over Blackstone Edge plus tripillar. Weather cloudy at first, sunny later, warm throughout, very good visibility.amblerbob11/07/2014
Parked to the east of Oxygrains Old Bridge where you can take the high gate to make due north to the trig. However I preferred a circular route on this warm sunny day so headed for Green Withins Reservoir before Cat Stones and Dog Hill.Dugswell209/07/2014

From Oxygrins old bridge up reservoir track until rough grass - jumping across a leat (easy). Trig as well.Nicholas Craine crossed N to S over this hill on his wonderful two degrees west hike through England, and then snuck under the M62 through drainage tunnels, having planned to wait for the quiet of the small hours and dash across.Chris Pearson14/08/2011
