From Hitter Hill I followed the RoW heading SE, but where it turns I continued to the summit. Descended steeply down to metal gate which was propped open at SK 09490 66623. Arrived at the gate just as someone was coming out of the house opposite but they didn't say anything.Wheelsy01/03/2020
Fifth hill of the day, rain had stopped - short hike up from Earl Sterndale.DanMaisieBex31/08/2019
10.8 mile circular from Parsley Hay, followed minor road and footpaths to Carder Low via Vincent House farm, from Carder Low followed footpath to Pilsbury Castle Hill then followed unofficial path through the access land to road at Crowdicote, from bend followed path up onto High Wheeldon (2nd time visited), then onto Aldery Cliff with easy access back to the road east, followed footpaths north-east to High Peak Trail then followed this back to Parsley Hay. Deep snow for majority of the walk, this looked amazing with the cloudless skies today, temperature ranging from 0 to -5 all day, with a cold wind.DanTrig02/02/2019
Parked in Earl Sterndale, walked up Hitter Hill by the path and then round the wall on the west side to reach the summit - no walls or gates need to be crossed. Went on to Parkhouse Hill.JohnW05/09/2018

Through gate on village road to north then straight up pathless hillside.Mark Sims04/12/2015
I followed the hand rail cable (unusual) up the climbers descent to the left of Aldery Crag which is owned by the British Mountaineering Council. A sheltered venue with over 50 routes, mainly in the easier and mid grades.Debris obvious of a rockfall from this ex-quarry that occurred in 2003. Not a great approach as two walls still to gain summit. Came straight down east towards village through one gate to road -simple. The church in Earl Sterndale was hit by a bomb (by mistake) during WWII -since repaired.Chris Pearson10/08/2015
From the mere up over fences and walls. Part of bus-pass day walk.Martin R17/02/2015
2nd hill of the day on circular from Longnor with bro. After High Wheeldon We investigated the Aldery Cliff. V interesting. I spotted a scrambling route up But it was Very wet So We Took the steep field nearby, through fence at top, over fence skirting right to follow ridgeline and a few bumps to minor grassy knoll at the summit. Views down onto Earl Sternedale and High Wheeldon looks Very impressive from this top. We dropped Down into a paddock and onto the minor road into the village.Dazingdale04/10/2014
Parked in lane to SE at stile to High Wheeldon, opposite quarry and climbing area. Track leads steeply around left edge of quarry then across top (slippery when wet, safety line in place). Over wall into field with barn, then cross fence and up to knolly summit.Aye Jimmy13/09/2014
