On own. From Harboro Rocks car park on Manystones Lane. Footpath past factory crossing High Peak Trail then onto access land to summit and trig point. Noise from factory and nearby clay pigeon shooting event detracted from short walk.Beeliner11/08/2023
A 23 mile walk from the picnic area north of Brassington to reach five Ethel's Harboro rocks, Bolehill (Cromford moor), Blakelow hill (bonsall moor), Aleck low and Minninglow hill, with 3660ft of ascent, pub stop Winster after five hours.WAYNE ROWLETT17/06/2023
From Harboro Rocks Car Park then over the High Peak Trail and up through the outcrops to the summit and trig pillar. Got wet! But then the rains cleared to reveal the views. The Peak District always looks lovely even when it's wet.praenterprise05/05/2023

Parked at Harboro Rocks car park and walked up through the rocky outcrop to the summit and trig pillar. Windy today but still had extensive views of the surrounding Peak District countryside including the High Peak Trail towards Minninglow and to Carsington Reservoir. Afterwards walked along the Trail to Hopton Top and back.praenterprise19/10/2022
Also on 18/8/2022 along with Aleck Low on a bike/walk circuit (forgotten I'd already done it). Plus various times climbing.steveb200618/08/2022

With members of Bassetlaw Hill & Mountain Club. Clear and breezy. Parked at Carsington water.alwaysinshorts05/12/2021
I parked just to the east of the works at 8:30am. I headed along the track with the Great Crested Newt signs where I saw a Whitethroat and Redstart. I headed up to the trig and summit rock. Lovely views to Charnwood Forest and the Midlands Plain ruined by the noisy works and the wind turbines. I then headed down to the Midshires Way which I followed before heading up Longcliffe along the Limestone Way. To gain the summit I had to get over the double barbed wire fence. I saw Magpies Mistle Thrushes a Wheatear and Goldfinches amongst others. Lost the Limestone Way and ended up to far west so had a longer road walk back to the car. Time taken 75 minutes for 3.14 miles. Solo no other walkers.isabelle02/08/2021
From picnic area to WSW via ROW to SW. Nice but somewhat spoiled by the noisy works. Solo. About 130m ascentRoguePulsar17/07/2021

Great top. From High Peaks Trail where it was clearly signposted. Full day running from Cromford to Matlock (35k) with hill tops inc Harboro Rocks, Longcliffe Hill, Slipper Low, Minninglow Hill, Blake Low, Blakelow Hill, Masson Hill. With L1bby.Fionalevey14/08/2018
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Struggled a tad to get to this as the water board had blocked the road near N53° 05.551' W1° 39.024' and we had to do a big detour. Great spot, shame about the plant below but you could ignore that. Could see this would be a popular climbing spot. Very hot by now, scorching to be honest!thejackrustles06/07/2018
Small parking area 50m east of where the summit footpath meets the road to the south (alt 326m). A well waymarked path leads from the road to the summit.moorsman10/03/2018
Clear and mild afternoon walk to Harborough Rocks Tump and trig followed by Longcliffe Hill with its sheep skeletons. Parking to the SE after factory and RoW.Dugswell211/01/2018
Part of a late night summer cycle on the high peak trail in July!Joel45105/07/2017
Parking: For both Harboro Rocks and Longcliffe Hill, good sized layby SK 24322 54872. Julie had a sit-down in the stone 'chair' on Harboro Rocks.David Evans14/04/2017
A run in the snow from Carsington, via the non-existent footpaths in the works above Harboro Farm, to bag Harboro rocks. Probably done it before whilst climbing but just checking. Then the High Peak Trail and Limestone way to Longcliffe Hill. A couple of walls and barbed wire fences to contend with, but the electric fence is non-functional. Not the most exciting hill in the world. Back via HPT, and a fab bum slide into Carsington to cap it off.Gill11/02/2017
Short walk from S. Interesting summit of limestone outcrops.RobertP11/12/2016
With Penda, from home, via Carsington and Brassington, then on to Longcliffe Hill and Harboro Rocks and back via Carsington. 4h 45m. Been here many times, but wasn't aware it was a Tump until recently. Fabulous 360 degree views as always.beorwulf25/10/2016
Took fp from east of quarry. Lots of crags.Campbell Singer28/09/2016
Along Pennine Bridleway. Super little hill. Very easy. Derby Mountain Rescue were carrying out an exercise when I was there. Helicopter, ambulance etc. At least I hope it was just an exercise...trimarc207/08/2016

Beat the rain on a 10 mile local Saturday morning walk around the High Peak trail taking in Harboro Rocks (good),Longcliffe Hill, Minninglow Hill (good) and Slipper Low ( frisky cows)Mark Sims14/11/2015
From layby/parking area on minor road to south at SK 24333 54840. Couple of private signs before reaching access land but good path through them all the same! Cave to left of path at SK 24220 55227 worth a tiny detour. My brother Ed (who's an expert in these matters) give it score of 7 out of 10 for general darkness! Highest point is rock outcrop 18m SE of trig at SK 24279 55330 (Abney)David Gradwell02/04/2015
Large parking space to S, then f/p (sign up for clay pigeon shooting) just to E of works. F/p continues to rocks and trig. Misty so no views.Aye Jimmy10/02/2015
Guessed date - walked from Matlock BathMrChris198001/06/2014
One of many visits to this one, came off the High Peak Trail this time. Some outstanding views here.timday04/03/2014
Accessed off Pennine Bridleway. I started at Middleton top having already walked up from Middleton by Wirksworth. I had intended to start the White to Dark trail but needed to get off the bus as i was dying for the toilet so I started the Pennine Bridleway instead! Weather was great all day and this looks like a good trail to branch off occasionally to explore the higher ground at various points. I ended up at Sparklow and then ran to Bakewell in order to catch the Transpeak bus back to Nottingham. There is a cave at Harboro rocks.Dazingdale02/03/2013
Walked up incline and along old railway, 2nd visit, last time in 2005. Part of a 15 mile walk.DanTrig01/11/2012

Orienteered here along with Carsington Pastures on several occasions. This was one occasion when the summit was crossed.JohnW22/06/2008
Short walk from the car park on Manystones Lane, but Harboro is too fine a viewpoint to simply tick off. It's quite possible to spend half a day playing on the superb rocks too.Jake99413/05/2006
Run from Black Rocks, Cromford.Flatfield23/04/2005
Nice walk up old railway incline to Middleton Top and along trail to Harboro Rocks, one of the most windy days ever near got blown off the top!DanTrig12/02/2005

Trig visited during my 1st climbing visit to these wonderfully 'juggy' limestone rocks -low enough to solo -and lots of easy grades. With Pete Hemmings after a night on top of Win Hill doing HPM checkpoint.Chris Pearson02/03/1991
And again on :- 04-08-2014,RichardM16/06/1990
From car park to the E of the factory, across high peak trail and round to the right. Found ourselves in a clay pigeon shooting area, passed a number of new-looking “throwing” machines, then passed a warning notice. Climbed to the trig point and down past the old mine structures. Interesting self supporting staircase, erosion cleared the once supporting structure beneath it. Onto the high peak trail heading NW. A rusted 5 bar field gate on the left gives easy access to Longcliffe Hill. A choice of 2 summits on a N S line. From there down to the road by a gate beside a new looking electricity sub station and back to the car park.Malcvolmblank
