Birthday walk for Rick Ground still frozen though snow melting today. A good walk over Parkhouse, Chrome, High Edge, and Hollins. With B and R. | jenx | 20/01/2024 |
Across from Chrome hill. Followed the path a little way along the N side below the ridge, then up steeply onto the ridge. Kept to the more rocky stuff higher up, trying to avoid the loose rocks. Amazing little hill, but it would be easy to slip. Continued E to the first col, then down on steep grass towards the North Top. | LizH | 24/08/2023 |
Help! Lost glasses. The most dangerous hill in the UK? I have just searched this hill on the Buxton Mountain Rescue website. There have been 3 call outs to this hill this year. ( in total they average 87 a year for the whole of their area) We climbed the eastern side from Earl Sterndale. Coming down the western side the path was unclear in places. My wife slipped on the rock, loosely covered by thin soil. She came to rest at the whar3words location ///cracking.bulb.parked. Don’t walk Down directly to this location the ground is very unstable and steep.
Above this point is the path that traverses horizontally across the bare rock. Easier if you go the right way !
There are still a pair of glasses in the area, but please be careful if you are looking for them., a reward will be paid to Buxton mountain rescue. (£100+). malcolm.ratcliffe(at)gmail.com.

My wife flew through the air and somersaulted then rolled before stopping. I remember seeing things flying through the air | Malcvolm | 09/07/2023 |

With family from Earl Sterndale: Parkhouse Hill and Parkhouse Hill North Top in approximately 2 hours. Slippery limestone and heavy erosion makes Parkhouse Hill a more trying proposition than it used to be, with the most difficult section coming about 25m below the summit on the west ridge. It should also be noted that there are now 'No Parking' signs on the convenient grass verge near the cattle grid between Parkhouse and Chrome Hills. | Mark Jackson | 01/10/2022 |

Parked by the curch in Earl Sterndale. Took the path past the Quiet Woman (stiil closed) to the top of Hitter Hill, down and round and up the East of Parkhouse Hill. Lovely day so the rock was good and the paths dry. Complete traverse then up North Hill | climbingkershaw | 05/05/2022 |
From Earl Sterndale.
Weather pretty bad, hailing.
Decided against Chrome Hill, due to the wind.

On a circular from Hollinsclough. Ascent from east, although route is from the west is probably easier. One section just below summit is a short scramble (all fours) and rock is slippery. Descent to west and on to Parkhouse nth Top. | Meanderer | 23/01/2022 |
Amazing temperature inversion | mavero10 | 19/12/2021 |

12k from Longnor, Parkhouse, Chrome, Hitter, High Wheeldon | AvidSockWearer | 24/10/2021 |
Went up in the pouring rain. I have to say I felt scared on top. The rock is really slippy and the mud paths just slide under your feet and when a slip could mean death I have to say I would recommend doing this on a dry day. It should be lovely up there when the sun is out. I went up the ridge wall and then back down the east path after getting to the summit with a couple of other crazy people :-) | davert123 | 02/10/2021 |
Circular walk along dragons back with Sasha: climbed Parkhouse Hill from the South East, lots of loose rock etc up to the summit which was a little treacherous. Retraced and down-climbed the same way- it would be nice to continue the scramble to the second summit and then come off the top via the much less severe North East side. Continued to Chrome Hill. | hjb68 | 25/07/2021 |

From Chrome Hill. Arguably even shaplier than Chrome Hill. Considered scrambling straight up the rocky nose. Didn't, which was just as well as there's a very tricky looking downclimb from the first bit of ridge. Very enjoyable climb to summit with mini mountain feel. On to North Top. | Wycombe Wanderer | 29/08/2020 |
With the 3 girls. Nice dry, but generally grey day. 18Km round of ten with a bit of running. | davechaffey | 20/06/2020 |
