With Jo, circular walk from Rowarth mainly on rights of way and by-roads: Robin Hood's Picking Rods, Cown Edge, Matley Moor (Knarrs), Lantern Pike (and nearby trig). Weather; mixed day of sunshine and showers, cool breeze with good visibility.amblerbob09/08/2016
The forlorn trig visited as well.Alan Caine06/10/2015
Climbed from Little Hayfield where the old mill has been converted, like so many others, into apartments for commuters to nearby Manchester and Stockport. Local residents of Hayfield have included - Tony Warren the creator of Coronation Street (memorabilia in the Lantern Pike Inn) and Arthur Lowe of Dads Army. In the 1920s-30s around 5,000 people each weekend would travel from Manchester to Hayfield by train to enjoy the countryside around Kinder Scout. There is an annual fell race up Lantern Pike.Chris Pearson06/08/2015
