Dirt layby at 31041 94435, up to Sherwood Foresters' Memorial then HP at trig just beyond. 11,000 Sherwood Foresters killed in WW1. Mind-boggling. | clivevilla | 07/02/2024 |
1st time to actual trig point | visionset | 17/08/2023 |
Started from The Tors down some roads onto a path which lead to a war memorial, the summit was a trig point right next to a big tower. Went with Dad. | speedyclimber | 28/05/2023 |
Walked N using ROW from The Tors. Past the Tram Museum (with musical carousel) then up the Foresters Memorial access road. No charge for pedestrians unless you want to go up the tower. Just go around the back of the tower to trig point. A sombre return the same way after reading some of the poignant memorial plaques. With Felix | RoguePulsar | 28/05/2023 |
Third hill of day, after Thorphill and the Tors :-) | AJH | 08/05/2023 |
On a trail run from Crich. | Wheelsy | 02/01/2023 |
Spending the day at Crich Tramway Village and walked up from the Glory Mine tramstop mid-afternoon, easy ascent. 360 degree views from the top away across the Peaks, to Staffordshire and Leicestershire and no doubt more. Also the location of Crich Stand Memorial and Crich Trig Pillar. Returned to the Museum via the memorial access road to Town End. | praenterprise | 18/10/2022 |
Parked in Crich for a walk up Crich Beacon and The Tors. | PGCE | 26/07/2022 |
Walked up from locked memorial gate to trig pillar that is to the north behind the tall war memorial. | vegibagger | 02/05/2022 |
From SSE up road to memorial with trig beyond tower. Paid to go up tower. Also checked out ground other side of fence near edge of old quarry. | PeterD | 03/12/2021 |
A very windy day - but sunny. The memorial car park was locked when I arrived so I parked near Plaistow Grange and made a loop run of it. Pretty good views from the trig - better I guess from the top of the tower - but I didn't have the necessary 50p with me | M3WDD | 07/11/2021 |
Paid £1.50 to park and 50p to climb the tower and gave a small donation to the Sherwood Foresters regimental association. A good place for quiet reflection. | Wycombe Wanderer | 15/10/2021 |
Ashover Gravel - Ride (via Strava) | visionset | 18/08/2021 |

Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log:

Parked at entrance to museum as it was now closed. You could drive almost all the way up when it's open. Great views and a shame we couldn't go to the top of the monument at this time of day. Also spotted a benchmark on the building on the way down the hill. | thejackrustles | 05/07/2018 |
Parked at entrance gates, as museum/tower closed. Short walk to trig. Great views afforded. | Ramblingpaul | 16/06/2018 |
£1.50 per car entrance charge to drive to the top with a further 20p per person to go up the tower. Money well spent. | moorsman | 10/03/2018 |

A very easy bag. I parked at the memorial. There is a donation of £1.50 for cars but I thought it was for a very worthy cause. The views from the beacon are extensive. There is a Trig Point just beyond the beacon. Well worth the visit. | Neil Haslewood | 09/07/2017 |
Parked in Sherwood Forester's war memorial car park. Went up tower as well as visiting trig. | David Evans | 14/04/2017 |

Parked on grass verge on lane to monument at SK 34593 55095. Would have driven up to parking area but there was a septic tank sucker-outer (I think that's the technical term) blocking the road. | David Gradwell | 02/04/2015 |
Parked in Sherwood Forester's war memorial car park. Short walk to trig past tower. | ngthack | 15/02/2015 |
Road gate to memorial locked today, snow and ice. Interesting place but no time to linger, getting dark. Trig S1719 seems to be highest point. | Aye Jimmy | 24/01/2015 |
My 3rd hill of the day on a Walk from my house in Aspley, Nottingham to Matlock bath. The other hills were Nuttals park and Thorphill. I approached from Crich village turning onto the minor road with vehicular access to the Memorial. I had the whole area to myself with a gorgeous view bk to CriCH. I took. the fp circumnavigating the quarry down to Wakebridge. | Dazingdale | 14/09/2014 |
Excellent location in the shadow of the nearby tram museum. | timday | 08/07/2014 |
