Second visit. Met friendly chap who keeps horses in new stables by the roadside at entrance to farm. Not his land, but he thought the owners would be OK with baggers. No longer a working farm. | malcorbett | 12/06/2021 |
12 mile circuit from Wirksworth, Alport Heights, Carsington Reservoir, Stainsbro Hill, Wirksworth | JulieB | 22/05/2021 |
From minor road to the east. Through open gate, left round field edge and under loose barbed wire fence to summit. | KeithByTheC | 22/05/2021 |
Good roadside parking due south of the quarry, 50m from field access gate. Through the gate and head for the summit directly across the pasture. Summit over fence in next field, but obvious when you get there. | moorsman | 09/08/2020 |
Parked just beyond entrance to Haskell farm, along road then up field to fence, trig and HP just beyond. | PeterD | 02/12/2019 |

Nice bike loop from home | davechaffey | 11/04/2019 |
Parked in Hopton and followed RoW SE towards Stainsbro Quarry. Immediately S of this an open gate allowed access into field. Trig and HP are on W side of wall, unlike they appear to be on the OS map, but they were easy to access. | Wheelsy | 27/01/2019 |
Here for the trigpoint, Hasker Farm. TP:UK log:

From gate, immediately north of farm track, Sk26601 52480. Straight to the top with no fences to cross. West of the wall/fence (OS 25K suggests it is in the wall) | Moorponder | 31/08/2017 |

Route as Campbell Singer - gates open and easy stroll to pleasant top. | RobertP | 11/12/2016 |
With Penda, from home. Up Summer Lane and then took road to Callow, at top by Pitty Wood went W through gate and across field. Trig point is just W of fence, easily crossed. You could go through the next gate and down the farm road then turn right across field, but as it isn't a public footpath, might upset the farmer. | beorwulf | 15/10/2016 |
Parked next to wood on Stainsboro Lane. Easy walk through pasture to hp. | Campbell Singer | 28/09/2016 |
A long tump-bagging loop around Carsington Water: Kirk Ireton - Rakestones Hill - Biggin - Badger Moor - Atlow - Madge Hill - Brassington - Longcliffe Hill - Middleton Moor - Stainsbro Hill - Carsington Water east shore - Broom Lane - Kirk Ireton. Straight up from the lane to the ENE. | davidpettit84 | 05/07/2015 |
2nd hill of 6 today on a challenging walk from Ambergate station ending in Belper, having previously climbed Alport Heights, I took the laned heading West using fp to maintain direction to Hillside farm, fp to Ashley Hay, a short section of the B5023 then fp over the Ecclesbourne railway then heading NW over a lane and then onto Callow lane, climbing into Rough Pitty side, following fenceline through bluebells, dropping down to the track that snakes through the woods (very atmospheric) emerging onto Stainsbro lane, heading South and climbed upto trig over the fence. Good views! Walked down on the track back onto Stainsbro lane heading South. | Dazingdale | 24/05/2015 |
From start of farm lane to the E, difficult to get to this one unobserved. Highest point seemed to be in field about 20m from trig. There was a farm water(?) tanker stood nearby on this occasion. | Aye Jimmy | 26/01/2015 |
Nice little walk up to trig with good views of Carsington Water | Mark Sims | 03/01/2015 |
Easy approach from Hasker Farm drive. | ngthack | 16/11/2014 |
With Becky Cubas | vegibagger | 31/10/2013 |
Accessed via the old quarry/bottle dump on the road from Carsington. Trig requires quick jog to three trees, and is slightly to the south of the southernmost tree. | DanHolme | 29/06/2013 |
