Straightforward from gate to NE. A tumpy Tump. | Wycombe Wanderer | 12/07/2020 |
Although longer, I opted for a covert approach as the layby near the gate stated that it was a passing place with no parking. Parked easily in Leadmill to the east. Walked west along the minor road for half a mile and took a path into the trees. Over a gate then surprised to see all the tracks had names and even a seat! Along Main Road, right up Runnels Road and then right up Badger Hill! Just before the end cut right to an old tubular gate and diagonally across the field to another gate. Very easy ascent from here, unseen. 30 minutes return. | moorsman | 11/07/2020 |
Very simple trot up from the road, but good views. In comparision to the nearby hills it's more low than high. | Altheus | 08/06/2020 |
Found an open gate at SK22378039 which was a little irresponsible as there were sheep giving birth on the field as I went up, I gave them a very wide berth so as not to disturb and slipped up to the top and back again. | simonshrewsbury | 13/04/2019 |
Last of the day, from the Plough Inn, Leadmill up lane then over fields of pasture to grassy summit with pleasant grassy hollows. | RichardM | 08/01/2019 |
Last of a 4 tump circuit from Shatton + Durham Edges and Abney Low. Accessed via the woodland to avoid being seen then ran down to join fp. | John Eley | 03/11/2018 |
Parked to the NE just passed gate which needs climbed then over another into summit field and top without being in view of the farm. Back through two open gateways then over initial gate to car. | Dugswell2 | 06/01/2018 |

07.00 start in the pitch dark and thick fog. Parking next to gate and I picked up another gate in the beam of the head torch at the edge of first field.Straight up over grass and dead bracken. Bumpy summit due to some extraction. | Campbell Singer | 17/01/2017 |
High Low or, rather, low high. Another buspass day Tump. Started from Hathersage station. | Martin R | 22/12/2016 |

Last hill of four today starting from Bamford, climbing Shatton edge, Durham edge, Abney low and on approach to Highlow hall took fp towards woods but veered off to walk alongside stone wall climbing over at Hawthorn tree which is out of view from buildings, then climbed upto grassy summit. Descent via fence and over electrified fence to lane leading all the way to Hathersage. | Dazingdale | 28/09/2015 |
with L up NE ridge. Two gates. On a 24km walk out and back from Sheffield, from our summer house sit in Dore, over Burbage moors and through Hathersage. A glorious July day (sunburnt legs) with lunch by the River Derwent. Onwards up road to try for Abney Low next (failed). | Chris Pearson | 10/07/2015 |
From the bend in the road to the NE of the hill. Two unlocked gates then headed up the side of the wall to the E of the hill - out of view of the farm until right on the summit. Returned same way. | Wheelsy | 04/05/2015 |
