With Colin, walked all the way up to the knoll next to the 18th. Asked permission at shop.Andrew Pearson17/12/2020
Celebration walk commemorating parents wedding anniversary. Five years after dad's death. Full walk over deserted golf course, via high point mounds by green in front of clubhouse.vegibagger21/04/2020
One of the things I love about Tumping is the variety. The rotting vegetable matter from Whinney Hill barely dry on my boots and I'm strolling onto a genteel golf course with an inviting looking 19th hole.Wycombe Wanderer16/01/2020
Plenty of parking on road by clubhouse. About three minutes' there and back.David Evans22/07/2019
1 of 8 on 31.4 mile bike ride including marsden height, Walton’s monument, law hill, sheep hill, hawshaw hill, pinhaw beacon, nutter Cole hill, and colne edge.The-Z-Man26/03/2019
Parked in the club car park. Course fog bound so no members around. Assistant pro was very helpful. High point is next to 18th green less than 100 mts from clubhouse.Campbell Singer30/12/2018

Parked on the road outside the club house. About half a dozen golfers couldn't have been more helpful. Actually waited until I had taken the photo. Parted as friends (almost).moorsman20/10/2018
Parked on verge by gate SD 869359. Friendly golfers asked if I was lost and then advised me to keep to rough areas to avoid being hitcarole engel27/12/2017
5th and final hill of the day on a route from Cornholme to Brierfield, climbing to Hoof Stones height, Hameldon, Boulsworth hill-Law law and then Walton's Monument descending via Sheffield Lane, continuing on Crawshaw lane (track and very muddy)fp to Fern Valley then Pendle Way Sw over Nelson road and then fp that approaches clubhouse, over fence for the 1st of the purported summits, then over to the grassy rise and shed using trees to reach fp heading N but exiting on Fp heading West (exploring mound on 16th and then Trig) before taking FP N to drop onto main suburban road (fp officially closed due to wall collapse but I got through having to climb over door at the end. Ended up at Brierfield only to find no trains run to Burnley Manchester road so took M1 bus to Burnley and then X43 to finish at the Rosehill House hotel.Dazingdale18/02/2017
Tree on mound by clubhouse looks highestBramley17/02/2017
Golf course closed due to being waterlogged. Spoke to a very pleasant golfer who said it would be fine to visit the 17 th. Went to knoll with tree as well, which is definitely the highest point.ngthack30/03/2016
Wandered round course lonely as a cloud-only saw one set of golfers playing!I agree tree east of clubhouse seems highest point, but went elsewhere just in case.catman26/05/2015
Nelson Golf Course busy, waited for suitable moment to get to knoll by the 17th! Not convinced this is highest point: grassy rise with large tree 70m east of Clubhouse at SD 86566 36088 seems higher.Aye Jimmy03/06/2014
With Jo, from Brierfield to Marsden Height tripillar then Marsden Height and onto Nelson. Weather; overcast, cool wind, good visibility. Top reached easiest from Club House provided you do not meet the GOMGC brigade.amblerbob07/02/2014
Looking at the damaged trig and the masts on a dampish morning. A P40 hill bagged with Alex (trigging on an island) before Rob Woodall's 6,000th flush bracket party at the Sun Inn, Haggate.Dugswell215/12/2012
