9th top of the day and nice one to finish with, after creeping about in undergrowth on Rhea Cliffe. From Abbey pub, nice copse of trees on summit and views of Hen Cloud and The Roaches.Nick Canute17/04/2022
A proper hill, not just a silly bag. Didn't get to the summit, got back to the car, realised my mistake and went back. Silly but none the worse for it. Killed some harlequin ladybirds on a gate.Wycombe Wanderer27/10/2021
Circular from Abbey Green, returning via Leek. With Rosie.BobHancock07/11/2020
It was quite steep in some parts, but it wasn't too hard. I went with my family, the summit was near some trees which was nice.speedyclimber08/08/2020
Parking by the small wood to N past the watersports club. 57m ascent. Nice little walk with good views of The Roaches. Summit copse provided refreshing shade on a muggy day. With family except Evie.RoguePulsar08/08/2020

Day walk from Meerbrook with L, John, and borrowed Josie the old and stiff Jack Russell who had a top speed of 1mph. Up and down the same way then walked to the magnificent Roaches to climb on the superb boulders.Chris Pearson16/06/2018
Congleton - The Cloud - Long Edge - The Bent - Gun - Hillswood Hill - Leek. Snow most of the day, 2-3 inches lying everywhere and hills in thick cloud.Mark Jackson09/12/2017
bit of bother with farmer's wife - note on windscreen, etc. as per Campbell Singer.arranc21/08/2017
4th hill of 5 today on a route from the Cat and Fiddle pub to Leek. I got the Ramblers Coach from Nottingham. Climbed Whetstone Ridge, Gradbach Hill and the Roaches and then a series of tricky paths to reach Meersbrook prior to which I had my own Buzzard screech and swoop routine. It must have had chicks nearby but got a great pic of it swooping towards me! At Meersbrook, I followed the Staffordshire Moorland walks path to North Hillswood using track that continues in a N Easterly direction before veering off a short distance to reach summit on edge of Scots Pine coppice. Descended NW over a wall then through woodland meandering through a path of sorts to reconnect with the Staffs Moorland walks and I followed this all the way into Leek, following route SE to Buxton road, heading for Kniveden Hill.Dazingdale09/07/2017
