Easy parking at the end of Range Road to the north (alt 185m) from where a clear track running south starts. Follow this to beyond the farm to a gate almost alongside the summit. Cross upwards across the field as far as the reservoir, the trig being accessible after a walk round three sides of it. 20 minutes return.moorsman04/03/2020

Parked on Pentland Way then up the muddy track (Early Bank Road) by the side of the pub.Past a semi derelict house with abandoned vehicles and up the path which contours round and thru a busy livery stables. Immediately after the livery yard accessed a footpath that goes up to a track to the summit. Got to fenced compound and went round this on the East side to access the summit trig. Well worth doing as fantastic views. With Mart and DaisyJohn Eley11/03/2018
Parked on nearby housing estste SJ 96862 96533. Farmer was fertilizing southern fields, so followed Early Bank Road to SJ970974 and walked up through wood from East.David Evans23/04/2017
Final hill of 5 today on an enjoyable route from Hattersley station to Stalybridge station, climbing Idle Hill, Mottram Hill, Harrop Edge and Wildbank hill, cliubing down estate over main road into Eastwood Nature reserved around the stadium and climbing a series of paths to traverse SE to reach ridge and then easily to fenced compound. IT is possible to enter compound as one of the fences has come away just enough to squeeze through but summit is at Trig outside compound to the NE. I dropped down to the footpath leading past Bardsley fold farm and then through Stalybridge to the station.Dazingdale10/09/2016
from Green Lane, Hollingworth, walk around Mottram Hill-Harrop Edge (Mottram)-Hough Hill, Wild Bank Hill (Hollingworth Moor)joseph mitchell05/08/2016
From pub to SE. Wet grass, gloomy and hint of drizzle passing some soggy campers - A dad and his boys packing up a wet tent. An unseen aircraft in the gloom above descending to Manchester airport felt very close. Easy track and path up through wood.Chris Pearson06/08/2015
Pleasantly surprised by this hill. Reached top at twilight with pretty special view.Flipperfeet23/04/2015
From Matley Lane to SSE of hill, parked in large carpark of the Rising Moon pub. Followed lane with 'Unfit for motor vehicles' sign past a few houses, bypassing golf course, to large dog-walking fields with horses. Diagonally across these to covered reservoir on top and just beyond this, a trigpoint. Nice to see a trig outside a fenced compound and also at the highest point!Aye Jimmy22/08/2014
Concerned coming from the south it looked like yet another reservoir pillar visible but not accessible. Pleased to find that it is outside the moorhen end of the water boards fence and higher than the reservoir. Hurrah.vegibagger14/08/2013
From Stalybridge train station, circled around the hill past Bardsley Fold Farm, eventually finding a way to the summit up a steep field on the east side. Barbed wire fence was easy enough to crawl under. Interesting views towards Longdendale.Jake99418/01/2012
