Roadside parking to the N. at around 993949 - S. along road for about 100m & then SE along RoW to kissing gate in field corner - WSW alongside fence to field corner, over two bits of wooden fencing & up over lush pasture to high point which is in view of new house. | gerrybowes | 13/09/2023 |
From the more northerly ROW and across a pasture. | clivevilla | 14/02/2023 |
As mentioned, there is a new building at the obvious access point, with site fencing. Slightly longer, but I took the alternative FP 200 m to the north to the FP junction, then direct to HP from second fence corner. | henryfm | 22/05/2022 |
New building attached to farm, footpath sign removed and blocked ROW. Unashamedly climbed over, unchallenged. | Nick Canute | 28/03/2022 |
6 of 6 on 23 mile bike ride starting in broadbottom. Went past slightly so had to backtrack left bike by houses that looked like they were still being built and wandered into field | The-Z-Man | 10/02/2022 |
New houses not yet occupied, FP not obvious, but HP short distance from it. No farmer around to ask. | PeterD | 10/10/2021 |
Grassy field with slight rise behind farm, close to FP. Great views. Owner(?) working in drive happy to give permission. | Denise | 05/12/2020 |
No evidence of the mapped path but friendly owner/farmer? working on drive to a new property listens to our request to visit the high point of the adjacent field. Permission is granted with an expression of bemusement bordering on pity. Great view E from the top of the levelish field of today, soggy pasture. | RichardM | 05/12/2020 |
Parking in a cyclists track on Littlemoor Road due west of the summit. Crossed the road and followed the path to the second set of building. No one in so headed 1 minute across to the summit. | moorsman | 04/03/2020 |
Parked in farm entrance. Looked for farmer to ask permission but nobody around so nipped up and back in minutes. | Campbell Singer | 11/11/2018 |
Discreet bag, early ish. Timing perfect as farmer on his way out. Parked opposite SJ 99276 94536 entrance, accessed via gate. Daisy the dog was left in car for speed & due to land...however, our cover was slightly blown when the Daist set car alarm went off, as we were checking exact location. Prompt summit and dash back. With John | Rotorslap | 11/03/2018 |
Parked on Littlemoor Road opposite turning into farm.Left dog in the car as its hard not to be very conspicuous/visible when dashing up this tump. Over farm gate then darted behind a holly bush to hide and check the GPS. At this point the dog set off the car alarm so we ran to the summit and back! With Mart | John Eley | 11/03/2018 |
Parked in wide entrance SJ 99276 94536. No Farmers around today, so uneventful 4 minute bag. | David Evans | 23/04/2017 |
A tame Tameside Tump bagged after walking less than 150 metres off the road through an open gate into grass field. Farmer was upset spotting me in his field. | Dugswell2 | 19/02/2017 |
Simple grassy field but glorious panorama of the Pennines and down on Glossop. Final Tameside TuMP | vegibagger | 10/10/2016 |
2nd hill of 5 today. Climbed Idle hill then Took Tameside way to Broadbottom then Littlemoor lane. Climbed over a gate and Followed bearing to edge of another field containing the summit but had to wait as three guys from farm were out in adjacent field. When the coast Was clear I headed out and reached the flattish summit, returning under the baleful gaze of one of the farm workers. I Climbed over a barbed wire fence to gain the road and Followed this past Warhill into Mottram.. | Dazingdale | 10/09/2016 |
from Green Lane, Hollingworth, walk around Mottram Hill-Harrop Edge (Mottram)-Hough Hill, Wild Bank Hill (Hollingworth Moor) | joseph mitchell | 05/08/2016 |
Simple walk from gate to W. Obvious summit area, flat at top. | RobertP | 27/09/2015 |
Took longer queuing to get across the traffic lights in Mottram (as ever ) than it did to hop over gate into field. The proposed Mottram bypass remains a long running saga. | Chris Pearson | 06/08/2015 |
From W, gate, pasture. | RHW | 01/11/2014 |
Very short walk from lane to W, over gate beside scrapyard into meadow. Long grass, vague rounded summit. | Aye Jimmy | 22/08/2014 |
Up and down from Broadbottom. The church tower at Mottram is very prominent and austere. | Jake994 | 28/11/2007 |
