Bole Hill [Blackwood S1729 Dest.] from GR: SK 36775 65852 | ronaldo333 | 21/03/2024 |
I went to the mound in the woods E of road at SK 36692 66020 - looks as high as garden opposite. Not too brambly this time of year. Have walked and cycled along road quite a few times before. | steveb2006 | 16/11/2023 |
Bagging whilst completing the Chesterfield Round Challenge Event | dazedemon | 14/05/2023 |
4 of 4 on 22 mile bike ride starting in grassmoor country park. High point in private garden. Outside on the road will have to do for the bag | The-Z-Man | 02/09/2022 |
Knocked on door and asked permission. Very friendly, but asked me not to take a photo. | moorsman | 11/07/2020 |
Bagged the lower wood then was invited into the higher hidden summit in the back garden by husband and son plus also met his wife. | Dugswell2 | 22/02/2019 |
Asked for permission of home owner to visit the top in the garden, permission given. First visitor request for 30 years apparently. | Adrian | 06/03/2018 |
Parking: Room for a few cars at bend in road SK 367 658. Brambles etc not too bad at this time of year at summit. | David Evans | 13/01/2018 |
Classic diversionary tactice, Carole Engel knocked on front door, I circled round rear over muddy pasture and accessed over a wall and up an embankment to the garden statue. Also visited alt HP in woodland opposite where we parked. | jonglew | 28/12/2017 |
Both summits visited. Knocked on open door of property to NE of Bole Hill farm to no avail, so wandered round the back to the summit by the statue on the raised lawn | carole engel | 28/12/2017 |
Parked near corner in road. Then a short distance to what seemed highest point through brambles. | Neil Haslewood | 24/07/2017 |
20ms from minor road through brambles and ferns. | Campbell Singer | 02/10/2016 |
Just off the road. | Barbara Singer | 02/10/2016 |
Parked by the road corner so almost a drive-up. Wasn't sure whether ridge east of lane was higher than marked summit near house. | davidpettit84 | 13/02/2016 |
4th and last summit of today, starting at Higham climbing Stretton edge, Ashover Hay, Cocking Tor and then using fp's to Ashover, stopping off at The Dead Poets Corner pub for a break then onwards past Northedge and minor road past Bole hill. I climbed over a gate once past the last property and struggled through 6ft high nettles, bracken and brambles before dropping down a bank to then follow wall but climbed back into garden to avoid potential confrontation with a herd of cows. Ran back across to road Next property seemed higher so walked upto front door and that must have neen very close to summit. Forgot about East ridge. | Dazingdale | 30/08/2015 |
Easy into trees to east of road to highpoint on bank. Gated posh house across road out of bounds (high point?)with panoramic views. | Chris Pearson | 09/08/2015 |
Grid ref. given inaccessible. Walked from footpath to west up field to wall boundary of private grounds. Must have been close as grid ref was 366659. Also visited postulated summit to East of road at 367660. Undergrowth OK this time of year. | ngthack | 15/02/2015 |
The second Bole Hill of the day and a lot of faffing. GR given indicates summit to W of road, behind large executive house. Attempted to get to this via wood from W, dense brambles. Later found 30m to E of road an overgrown ridge that may well be higher at SK 36692 66020. | Aye Jimmy | 30/09/2014 |
True summit does appear to be within grounds of a private house, but ground to E of road can't be too far off. | Wheelsy | 14/05/2014 |
Quite shapely and prominent when seen from afar. Thought the woods to the east of the road were higher and got tangled up in vegetation for fifteen minutes. What fun! | Jake994 | 09/08/2005 |
